This is basically just a short definition of the social statuses. None of these are unbending or always right on the mark. They can be much more or less extreme, or they can only half apply to your character. These aren't rules, merely guidelines as the title states.

Nerd/Dork - What everyone considers 'lame.' This, of course, tends not to be true. Usually these are just the more intelligent people, the quiet ones, the weird ones, the computer wizzes, the ones with excessive acne, etc.

Outcast - These are the kids shunned by everyone else. They're usually labeled weird, and tend to have less friends because they're majorly misunderstood and the like.

Skater/Punk - Well, the first part's self-explanitory. They skate, dress punk, listen to rock, spike their hair and dye it neon green, things like that.

Accepted - The people who aren't really labeled. They have friends, the popular people don't have problems with them, and they're pretty much left alone for the most part. They're that inbetween, where they aren't worshiped and they aren't picked on.

Musician/Artist - The kids who are in a band, or those who are especially creative. They're the artsy people who are usually either respected or just plain old hated on.

Goth/Emo - The more 'depressed' type, or just those who dress darkly. They're usually underappreciated and picked on because no one bothers to try and understand their point of view.

Athlete - The athletes are basically the jocks. They're, well, athletic, and usually putting all, most, or an exceptional amount of work into their sports.

Social Butterfly - A social butterfly is a wonderful thing to be. These are the people who aren't ignored by the popular kids, but still hang out with the 'nerds' too. They basically float around and have friends of all different types. Their 'ability' to get along with everyone is respected by many students, and they tend not to be judged.

Popular - Self-explanitory. They're well-known, have loads of friends, and are always right in on the newest gossip and the hottest trends. They tend to be the center of attention, or at least want to be.
