Shae walked slowly into the library, the immense quiet already starting to unnerve her. She hadn't been in the massively dusty room since, what, freshman orientation? Now she remembered why. It was creepy. Stomping along a lot louder than neccessary towards an empty table, she raised her eyebrows slightly at a geeky boy who looked aghast at the racket she was making. He was only a sophomore or something. He didn't understand.

Dragging out a battered old chair, Shae dumped her bag on the table. Believe me, she was only here because it was a matter of pass or fail. After flunking an algebra test, her maths teacher had sent her to the library in the hope 'that the peace will help you concentrate on your retake'. As if. He only said that because Shae was severely bringing down his student grade averages in the space of a term, he knew she'd try and bribe some kid into completing it for her. It wasn't as if anyone cared. Her grades were hardly ever her own. Well, the good ones anyway.

Taking the already crumpled sheet out of her bag, she lay it on the table. Looking over it slowly, her mind drew a nothing. had they really been studying this crap for nine weeks? "Aaargh!" She muttered under her breath, throwing her fluffy ended pen down on the table.

Library, school. Homework. All the daily things that ran through his head. Slowly, he pushed open the door and walked in, shaking his head at the poor condition. They really needed to give a bit more to the library, and maybe fire the current librarian - she was always PMS'ing it seemed. She yelled at Ronnie for the smallest thing, even though he was normally quiet as a mouse. At least. There were times when it was like he wasn't even there at all.

Suddenly (becuase of the great quiet) he heard an 'aargh.' Someone needed help. Ronnie shook his head again and turned to see who it was. Then he groaned, a hand to his head and walked slowly over. Shae Riley; Wildwood's own failure. A wonder she was in school. He took a deep breath and sat down at the table in front of her. In a second, his own books her shoved aside and he had his elbows on the table, his chin in his hands. ''What do you need help with?'' His voice was a soft whisper, not wanting to be yelled at by the librarian.

Shae crinkled her nose in disdain when a guy sat down at her table. She had been about to dismiss him, something along the original lines of 'that seat is taken' but that was before he spoke and she realised he could be used to her advantage.

"Hey Ronnie." She smiled over at him. Despite the fact she'd previously never even spoken a civil word to the boy, she still remembered his name. Shae might not have known what pi meant but she never forgot a face. And, she would go to any lengths to get out of doing work, school or otherwise. Even start flirting with a guy she normally wouldn't even notice.
"You're going to help me? Oh wow thanks." Beaming over at him, she slid the tatty set of stapled sheets across the table. "You see, I'm having a little trouble with ... uh.. most of it." She admitted with a slight laugh, which was muffled when the evil old bitch of a librarian started to rise out of her seat to reprimand them.

He acknowledged her acknowledgement of him with a nod, to do as little of talking as possible. He did put on a - somewhat - polite smile though. Shae remembered his name - good enough for the moment. Who knew what else she might end up remembering. ''Well, you need it don't you?'' Of course he would help. Ronnie was just like that. There was no way he would let some kid fail, even if he hated his or her guts, if he could help it.

''All of it would be..? Maths, English, what?'' His head turned and he sighed, looking at the librarian. ''Studying. Homework. I'm helping her - that's what the library is for.'' He told her the librarian in a calm voice, no sarcasm at all. Ronnie turned back to Shae, shaking his head. ''They need to fire her.'' His voice was lower than before, because that comment could get them kicked out in less than a second, and he wanted to be in the quiet library, rather than the loud hallway.

When she passed the sheets towards him, he picked them up and leaned back in his chair, scanning over all of the text quickly. ''Mm.'' Was the only comment that came from him as he flipped through the rest of them and laid it back on the table. Then he opened his green and black trapper and pulled out a couple of pencils and erasers, giving Shae one of each.

(Hah. I'm not going to be awfully specific in the helpingness of this, because i'm personally not that smart, but Ronnie is, so don't expect a lot ^^; sorreh. x3;)

ooc: oh darn, i was going to get you to do my math homework :]

"Yeah, I do." Shae nodded, pulling a slight face. Most people might be a little embarassed that the whole school was painfully aware of ther i.q., or in this case lack of it, but Shae wasn't really all that bothered. It wasn't like it was a lie.

"They need to give her a slap." Shae added, not taking as much care with her level of voice as she didn't have as much familiarity with the librarians moodswings. Luckily though, the older woman didn't hear her so all was good. They weren't going to be thrown out on their asses in the immediate future.

She accepted the pencil dutifully, twisting it around in between her long fingers. He wasn't actually going to do it all for her. Damn. Oh well. Maybe she'd actually learn something... Okay, that idea was laughable. But it was obvious he wasn't going to give her as easy a ride as first hoped. However, Shae was never one to give up when it came to such simple tasks. "Thanks again for helping me. It really means a lot." She said in her gushiest tone of voice. Some girls might feel a little sick with themselves for laying it on so thick but Shae didn't really have that problem. It wasn't like she had a particularly high self-respect. "You know, I'm sure if Mr Cooper was ... as good looking as you I'd find it a lot easier."

(I could try? XDD; Maths is one of my.. worse? subjects, && i'm in 7 gr., but one of my friends takes 9 gr. maths XD; // mmnm, and what are ronnie & shae studyin'? ;3)

He nodded, a rather habitual thing lately and looked over the paper again. Unconsciously, his pencil went to his mouth and he started tapping it against his cheek. ''Okay, Shae, what's hardest right now for you?'' He asked her, placing the pencil back on the table and crossing his arms on the table, as well. ''And it's not a problem. I've got everything finished so far, and, well, .. yeah.'' He wasn't going to tell her it was irritating for him to see someone, anyone, fail anything. Most specifically, grades.

Her compliment reached his ears and caused him to blush in an instant, his normally pale cheeks suddenly going bright pink. Compliments.. ah, definitely not his strong point. He licked his lips and bowed his head, looking over the page closer, even though he already knew the front page. When he felt his face cool off, he raised his head and gave her a light smile. ''Thank you, Shae.''

OOC: =] I just said Algebra as it was the first thing that popped into my head.

She glanced over at the paper and decided to start with the first question. It made pretty good sense since it was the first thing she was having troubles with. "You see, I dont understand how you're meant to work it out! It makes no sense..."She lightly pencilled a circle round the section she was talking about.

Shae felt a slight grin spread across her face when poor Ronnie's cheeks turned crimson. For a girl who heard compliments at least once a day, practically expected them, it was very strange and amusing to see the affect it had on some people. "Your welcome." She smiled back, feeling the slightest bit guilty that she was basically using him to get a good grade. Not that he seemed to really mind.

As it often did, the slightly quashing feeling of studying began to envelope Shae and as usual, she looked for a distraction. Her study breaks did alot more harm than good but that never stopped her. "Why aren't you outside with your friends? Isn't it your free period?"

( Hmmkk. This explanation will be messed up on my part, because i'm three grades behind this crap i'm trying to explain, so just pretend it's the right kind of explanation o.O;; hokk. danged math. i'm going to do simple 7 gr stuff, if that's okay? scientific notation~<3 i'm real sorreh. ^^; )

''Scientific Notation. Mmm.'' He licked his lips and looked over the problem, penciling in some marks that he made for himself, things that would mean nothing to anyone else, but did to him. He wrote out the problem again beside it. 1.23 * 10(11) ''Okay, first off, it says '1.23', and the 10 (which is the number always used in scientific notation) to the eleventh power means eleven places to the right of the period in '1.23'.'' Ronnie spoke softly, but slowly so Shae could understand him.

Then, he wrote 123 in bigger numbers and lightly put a dot between the 1 and 2. ''Now, all you do is take the exponent number, which is 11, and arrow it over eleven places.'' He demonstrated, by arrowing over, starting at the light dot, eleven places. Inbetween each of the hump - arrow thingies (LoL, i donno how to describe it) he placed a big '0'. So, it ended up being 123,000,000,000. Ronnie then looked up at Shae, and raised his brows. ''Understand?''

Then he sighed. ''Yes, it's my free period. I needed more study time, test tomorrow. They understand, I guess.. i'm always like this? Hmm. Mm. During school it's almost as if i'm non-existant to them, but not like on purpose, but because they know school's my work time.. Oh, screw it, I can't explain it.'' Then he cocked his head. ''Why aren't you out with, those girls.. Andy, Jinx and.. her.'' He asked, calmly saying each of the girls names, except for Kay. Ronnie just .. despised her.

( so much for that D: XD; )

ooc: sure, dont worry about the actual maths :] its more the actual atmosphere

Shae could feel her brow crinkling slightly as she tried to keep her mind foucsed on the exercise he was explaining. It would be a bit rude to completely zone Ronnie out while he was trying to help her. "Um. I think so..." She said quietly, her eyes scanning over the next question. "So that one would be 275 with ... nine noughts after it?"

"But dont you get bored doing homework?" She asked, even though it was clear that everyone got bored doing extra schoolwork, Shae found it hard to see why they continued with it. As he skills she learnt or grades the received were really not all that relevent to her future life, she couldn't really understand. "Oh, they're off somewhere in lessons. I'm meant to be in maths. My teacher sent me here to take a retest..." She admitted, hoping that it wouldn't stop him from helping her complete the paper. It wasn't completely cheating...

She found it amusing how he had avoided saying Kay's name. It was funny, she had the most power in the school but definitely wasn't the most popular.

(Okay X3 i'm always worried doing the school things like this because most people ((and char's)) I roleplay with are like three years older than me and stuff XD;)

He nodded. ''Good.'' He nodded, smiling softly. ''What about this next one?'' Ronnie asked, brushing some of his hair out of his face, watching Shae's marks on the paper. Maybe, she could get a higher grade in maths? Hah, but probably not. Ah well, he could try.

''Of course I do, after awhile. But i'd rather have good grades. Most of it isn't exactly homework either, I do a lot of extra credit.'' He shrugged, pushing the thoughts away. ''Oh, this is the retest then?'' Ronnie sighed, but then decided against not helping her. The teacher would more than likely know someone was helping her, but being frustrated would probably just accept the test and whatnot.

''Now, do a couple and I'll check over them.'' He told her, leaning back in the chair and placing his pencil back on the table.

"Really? It's right?" Shae grinned slightly more happily than she had meant too. Most people thought that she didn't mind having the brainpower of a eleven year old, and for the majority of the time she didn't, but occasionly it did get her down. Especially when people felt the need to point it out straight to her face. Her mother always insisted it was because they were jealous of her good-looks, which was a possibility, but it would be nice for people to envy something a little less shallow.

"I guess..." Shae nodded, even though she really didn't. Why the hell would a smart guy need or want to extra credit? He was already more than just passing his courses, how much did he want?

"Alright." She said reluctantly and pulled the paper over so it was directly infront of her. Leaning over to read it, brushing a few strands of her honey toned hair behind her ears, Shae started to look ove rthe next questions. She could actually complete this... After a few minutes of lipbiting and pencil tapping she had a few completed exercises to hand back over. "There!"

He laughed at her amazed expression, and leaned back in his chair further, just not enough to tip it in any way. ''Mm, yep.'' He told her, realizing she hadn't cared for his explanation on extra credits, and the works. Didn't surprise him, though, no one really cared much about Ronnie and what he had to say. Except his guys. And when Daphne was in school.. oh, but that was another story in entirety.

She finished the next couple and he took the paper and picked up his own pencil. Quickly, he scanned over it the answers and work she had done and nodded. Out of the three, she had only done one wrong, and then she had only forgot to add a zero, just a miscount, he often did that as well. But, he caught them. ''Good, just this one,'' He pointed to it, and the editing he had done, ''needed another zero after it. Just a miscount, not a bad thing at all.'' He smiled, happy to have helped and passed the page back. ''Let's see how many you can do, and get right, in the course of ten minutes. Sound okay?'' He asked her, looking over at the lucky-to-be-working clock on the wall next to them.

"Yeah, sounds okay." She grinned slightly sheepishly and took the paper back again. See, she could do somthing if she put her mind to it! And had learned it for over three months... She picked up the slightly chewed pencil from where she'd dropped it on her lap and started on the rest of the questions. After doing eight or so questions, she looked up at the ancient old clock and saw that ten minutes had passed. "Fingers crossed!" She exclaimed, complet with crossed fingers and passed the test back over.

"You know what?" She commented while he was reading it over. "You should be a tutor or something. I'd totally pay you to help me with my work." Maybe that was what had stopped Shae from receiveing even mediocre marks. She was never even going to reach a c average but at least if she had someone slightly pressuring her it stopped her from giving up the project so easily.

''Right, fingers crossed.'' He smiled and held up his hands, crossing his fingers as well then taking her paper and his pencil. He had just been about to tell her time was up, but she had taken care of that herself. Instinct? Ah. Ronnie scanned over Shae's work, only making a couple of marks on the page. Out of eight problems, and in ten minutes, she had missed two of them. And for Shae Riley, a six out of eight was rather good. ''Minus two, plus six out of eight. 'Grats, Shae. I think you have this down.'' He murmured, passing the page back to her. It was a total of.. eight out of eleven. ''Can you do the rest on your own, or should I stay and help longer?''

Then, while he was reading over her work she mentioned him being a tutor. ''Hmm, I donno. I could use the extra money..'' He said slowly, thoughtfully pondering over the idea. Maybe she wasn't as stupid as a negative eight gpa. Maybe it was.. oh, negative six? Ronnie smiled, ''that's a good idea, I might do that sometime.'' He nodded a few times, biting his lip. It definitely would help with saving for Dillon and Carmen, well, and himself, but still, more Dillon and Carmen.

"Yay!" Shae waved her hands in the air for little under three seconds but that was enough to earn her a death glare from the bitchy librarian. Geez, some pepole really needed to get a boyfreind. or girlfriend if you belived the rumours about the formidable old woman. Which Shae did. "Can you stay for a bit?" She asked, sticking out her bottom lip in a fake pout. "If you leave I'll probably just wander off."

"Yeh, you should defintely consider it." She declared, while looking over the next few questions. Doodling a 3D square in the corner, she continued, "Shouldn't waste your skills." Slowly working her way through the questions while continuing to chat, she said, "You're alright, you know? If you were a bit more confident..."
