The powerful influence of books, just merely collection of papers alone wrapped in a neat hardcover can change your mere perception on how you think of life, enrich your vocabulary and making an impact of yourself ultimately, whether it'd be in terms of turning over a new leaf by accepting life as it is as well as stepping into the world of maturity and full understanding.

So what did books done to you?

Books? They provided me with hours and hours of entertainment! ^^ But seriously, one does learn quite a lot about people from books... even storybooks, good ones, teach about human behaviour...

yes, now i recall this...i was quite influenced by a series of books in choosing my romantic story. it was not the typical knight in shinning armor...more the star-crossed lovers that deny each other because of duty...ever since then, all the potential romances in my life are more or less this way.

the heroine never ended up with her man. that's the best romantic story ever. meant for each other, but it can never be. melts my heart all the time...

well lessee, to be frank i am not quite an avid reader these days due to the lack of free time as of lately but still here's some of the many interesting things i've learn or at least inspired from the books i've read before,

1. increased proficiency in grammar and vocabulary, i built my english foundation upon reading books most of the time, and not to mention i got this habit of preparing a dict next to me whenever i engaged in a reading, notably novels or intellectual stuff such as motivational books.

2. heavy build up on my imagination and literature skills, for books in many ways have encouraged me to imagine and write whatever i had in mind, often in the form of either short poems or paragraphed fictions.

3. pacifying the infinite hunger of my restless mind, as i get to learn quite a number of interesting facts and thoughts on fields of my interest, updating my knowledge databank and nevertheless increased my proficiency in summing up points in debates or conversations.

well these three are among the many best answer i can sum up for the time being.

1. I see this world through different eyes. I fit in people's skin easily.
2. Imagination certainly has no limits. I learn to use my imagination to study. So, no more, boring subjects.
3. It sparks my interest to write stories...and read even more books.

top three...that should be enough ne?

I learnt my first few notes from books long before I took proper class for keyboards.

Thanks to book also I get to learn more stuff on guitar playing since there's nobody willing to teach me on how to play one.

I paid more attention to my grammar (although i might have done careless mistakes).
Influenced my writing skills.
Inspired me not to repeat any cliche or typical stuff when i make up a story.
Some books takes teaches you that IMAGINATION certainly has NO LIMITS.

Seriously, one of the types of books that started my life are encyclopedias.

My grandmother had a shelf full of them, and nope I didn't finish reading them all (and they are now dusty and were lost somewhere in my house nowadays). But I did read most of it in order to fill in some of my curiosities at that time... like, what are cells (as in its biological term, cells), how do our immune systems work, why there are left-handed and right-handed and ambidextrous people, the U-Boat terror in WWI and WWII, blablablabla...

And I read them all when I was in my early years of primary school. Nowadays Wikipedia is one of my companions rb_special02.gif3

speaking of which, i kinda have something familiar.

We have this huge Atlas of the World book. all the maps of every country are there, from small to large scale. Even some astronomy stuff. I didn't really 'read' it but I sort of studied to know where Malaysia is, where America is etc.
I like reading maps XD, i often score for Geography. I even use that book to study for Geography's PMR to know all the exact locations.
