so does anyone got a copy of juice's [ aka norman noh ] debut [ ? ] graphic novel yet from gempak starz ?

...

personally, i first came to know of his stuff a bit late... if i remember correctly my first exposure to his product being one of the hotlink warriors series published on gempak, but yet at that time i wasn't paying much attention to his stuff unlike how i did wif ben when he first made a major breakthrough wif his romantic series back then.

it was as of recent that i began to resume my utopia subscription and noticed a brand new series by the said artist titled primevera [ ? ] which quickly reminds me of my fave japanese series aria, it wasn't that near of a reference still that recent work of him resonates in the similar wavelength / fashion as those of aria.

Well, it's lucky of me to find this GN when I go out fer some snack ^^ .I first saw his work in gempak years ago (where he still doesnt use the pen-name Juice at tat time). Then, I wonder; who teh heck is this guy? his drawing stroke far exceeded the local manga-ka I've ever seen before!!
Tho aftr that he rarely send his work to gempak, many still keep a watch for his work and finally, he make a comeback last year. Not only jut his strokes are vry good, the storyline of his works arent bad too.

not to mention he's good wif background / landscape. i noticed the awesomeness of his perspective from primevera which immediately got me hooked upon his art. now that's what i call an hero

compared wif ben, juice's stroke is much more cleaner and refined although they still retain the similar sketchy appeal as ben's

for a guy, he's comic is better than most Japanese shojo manga...

for an instance i almost mistaken his work for imported stuff lol. that's before i get to learn that he's a freelancer for GS [ i wasn't quite a devoted follower of Utopia nor Gempak these days ]

speaking of which, if only he went independent like ben did i guess we'll be seeing more of him unlike how he were featured in GS [ 6-8 pages in 2 / 1 mags, not quite enough lol ]

perhaps he should join forces wif the likes of komikoo

He should stick too freelancing unless he wants GEmPak to tll him what to draw instead of what he wants to draw

True. a manga-ka of his talent shouldn't be limited of his own will. If not, his true potential won't be unleashed

i just bought the raya-bumper utopia and frankly speaking i was uberly disappointed to find that there's no sign of primavera in this issue, but rather is swapped wif a wth-is-this kind of comedy flick by the same artist.

though i'm in love wif some of juice works still this new, special comic of his didn't score much in my interest. it's just some brainless, plain joke as often seen in most local comics and only god can tell how much despair i had in paying rm 5.90 for an issue of utopia just for nothing [ the only reason why i bought utopia these days is solely for juice's primavera as well as some of cicak's one shot comics ]

juice may be good wif his rom-com / slice of life series yet he's not that awesome when it comes to plain comedy

maybe it's best to wait till the Graphic Novel is out...
