Maybe you could set the mic on the stand, and then stand there and sign out the words "Testing 1 2 3, testing 1 2 3." and then walk away yelling towards the back of the stage, "YEAH, THE MIC IS WORKING GOOD FOR THE HEARING IMPARED FOLKS!!!" hehe
