Hey guys I haven't seen much action as to conflicts and what not and I have an idea on how to spice things up. I miss playing an evil character and have been debating on either starting a new character or draw one of mine into the dark side and this would be a great time to start a senario with in the college walls.

So yeah here is my idea now. Adept Randuil- The one that has been looking for some way to gain more responsibilty with in the college finds himself in delima after a somewhat brief encounter with a faceless lord (If Jea wouldn't mind the encounter since they are his evil minions) and with that he begins to have a somewhat change of heart due to a test he took during his trail to become a wizard in Kyrnn. (For thoughs who know about Kyrnn's world from Dragon Lance all Wizards are tested before becoming full fladge wizad) And it just took a long time before it finally effected his mind. Soon Randuil will start wearing the black robes showing his change of alignment in the wizard conclave and also with a change in alignment there he will soon have to be either removed from the adepts or killed depending on what you allow him to know due to his service in the adepts.

Of course this is just an idea and I am not thinking of implimenting it without others inputs. This will allow conflict within the college walls if Randuil is able to escape. And to give play as to why people have notice the some what sudden change in himself, that is because he is a book worm and keeps to himself on many accounts.

So there is my opinion to spice things up any and all comments are welcome

Hm. I'm on the fence.

The Adepts have already had quite an amount of anarchy within their ranks - not recently, mind you - but they've had the Imee/Imia conflict, all the fairly recent bloody and violent Lord conflicts, and some others that I just can't seem to recall off the top of my head.

However, the Lords, especially, have been awfully quiet. They haven't targeted the Adepts recently (for good reason, that; not like I'm telling!), and as the Lords co-Lead, I can safely say that an interaction of conflict could easily be staged. And, of course, Magus as the leader of the Faceless Lords would dearly love to convert a Adept to the dark side.

Overall, though, I think it would be a bad idea to sacrifice Randuil so wholly and totally, without chance of redemption.
I partially speak for Jea/Gregory, here, but I would say that unless you're willing to bow out of the Adepts, a Randuil Sacrifice would be a bad, bad, bad idea. In this war/conflict/whatever, there is really little or no straddling the line. You're either with the Adepts or with the Lords, and I do not think that an act of conversion (Adepts to Lords or vice versa) is an act that should be taken lightly, without a hefty amount of forethought.
Lastly, if you're sacrificing Randuil in an attempt to jumpstart the storyline: I would not advise it. Similar events have been attempted recently: Imee/Imia's capture and the concurrent rescue; Deirdre's capture with the Lords; the turncoat Cienus; the ongoing enigma of the Mad Prophet; the maddening race to get all of the Moonbeam Crystals; the various deceptions on the part of the Lords, yadda yadda.

As you've noticed, the storyline isn't so much jumpstarted right now; people on both sides are quiet, whether because of disinterest or busy times in real life. A sacrifice of Randuil may well - most probable, actually - be a wasted one.

Well there is a few more recent groups on the ISRP which involve wanting to spread chaos and just plain bad trouble. What about pulling them into the race? Perhaps talk to some members of this group(s) and see if maybe we could involve them. We all know the Lords want nothing to do with chaos and would sooner kill it. Secondly, what about maybe a Crystal being in there possession?

This i think would help start yanking the ISRP together better, perhaps?

Yes to subverting other groups. A highqly probable 'No' to them having other Moonbeam Crystals.

While I appreciate your enthusiasm and desire to get something going, can I suggest you mess around with the rest of us IC for a while first? If you did want to do something with Randuil, you'd want us to care, yes? And that happens by making friends and becoming better known to ISRP at large... and with some of your newer Brothers and Sisters too.

I'd add that what Magnus says is true... now isn't the best time to run that storyline specifically. On the other hand, a whole load of other ones would be good right now... so, see you in chat? Sorry that I've not been around lately, real life is crazy. But you guys can keep going eh?

I dont have any ideas to spice up the plot but I thought - what about opening up Grayhawk (aka the CRT) for Adepts again? There was a big decline in play after the ban of that plane. Perhaps all Adepts are given a ring that shifts them instantly from Grayhawk to a plane which allows them to use the Moonbeams so they can escape incase of danger. I think it might pull some more people back on since we all know the most popular room - for all its restrictions - is the Crossroads.

Heh alright I see the point. And I will make it a prioty to show up on ISRP as Randuil more often then I have. I guess I am on at a completely different time then most others. Like right now I am about to head into work and I am usually not on till later in the night Central time. So I could just be missing out because of that who knows. I guess I need to be tring a bit harder then.

Alirghtie then back to building my character then
