Sunny Island
Hello and welcome to Sunny Island! We're a little island in the middle of nowhere, but for that we have a fairly large and diverse population. They say that the island was abandoned long ago, but no one quite understands why--it is full of natural resources. The initial settlers turned the deserted place into a number one tourist attraction! But, um, we don't quite have that distinction anymore... why don't you join us in helping to put this island back on its feet again?

It's currently Year Two of Spring.
It's a little bit cold for the season; a few particularly obstinate piles of snow and slush are left on the ground, even; but that hasn't stopped life from returning to the island. Flowers push their way through the ground, birds sing boisterously, and farmers once again set to the task of growing crops. There is no snow expected for the season, but there will be a lot of rain, so take care and keep dry!

The lush breeze was more than enough to make her feel welcome. There she stood, shoulders square, feet together, and luggage in hand. Her checkered-pink sundress skimmed her thighs as she took three confident steps forward, then came to another halt.
Surreptitiously, her eyes waded back and forth as she examined her surroundings. To her melancholy surprise, no one was around. How odd.
Well, either way, Vera had decided to stay on Sunny Island. It certainly was everything she'd thought it would be... Just minus the people. Surely it wasn't always like this. Maybe this was the anti rush-hour?
She shook her head, flailing her spiral ponytail to and fro. Temporarily, she began to pace aimlessly, unsure and indecisive on where to go next. She had just gotten here and had no idea what places were where. She would begin to walk in one direction, but then make an abrupt stop, only to change directions in the same manner. Her mind was completely filled with... Well, not much; other than "Where do I go?"
Her heart sank in her chest as a frown appeared on her face. Her iridescent eyes darkened a bit as she looked at the ground in hopelessness. If there was one thing she hated more than being in large crowds, it was being alone. A slight feeling of anxiety overcame her, numbing her skin ever so slightly. She let out a sigh.
Seeing as no one was around, Vera found it perfectly acceptable to plant her bottom right on the ground. There she sat, plopping her white bag down with her. Nonchalantly, she pulled out her little black velvet diary from her tote and sat it in her lap. Pen in hand, she began to write.
"It's really quiet on Sunny Island right now, so I don't really know what to do...."
She continued writing in a half-and-half mixture of cursive and printing. She sat pretzel-style, right in the middle of the square. Her disregard for social etiquette was blatantly obvious by the strange sight.
"I wish there was a welcome committee," murmured Vera.
