How do you upload a personal photo as an avatar like AManda has done?...I want to unleash my mug on the world as the wee hairy LOTR chap is tired looking now!I am just a bigger hairier man..

Firstly, it's best if the photo you're wanting as your avatar is sized down before you try to upload it. We recommend a size of 100x120 pixles.
Then if you head to the My Controls link at the top of the page (underneath the help link), and scroll down to Edit Avatar Setting. Once there, you have the choice of linking to an avatar of your choice either via somewhere else on the internet, or from your own computer. The allowed file types are also on that page, though if it's a photo of you which is on your computer, it'll most likely be one of those types anyway.
