I would like to ask help from y'all about which Prefab Sprout songs/extended versions have never been released on CD.I was surprised because the extended versions of Nightingales/Golden Calf are(as far as i know)unavailable in any digital format and are classics. It's time for a Langley Legacy Edition with all the b-sides/extended versions added. here's my list of unavailable On CD songs:
Radio Love
Walk On
Silhouettes
Nightingales 12" mix
Golden Calf Extended
Tornado
Oh!The Swiss
Heaven Can Wait
Spinning Belinda
The Devil Has All the best Tunes(the one on the 'indie' comp doe's t count,as it's mastered at the wrong speed)

Tornado was available on CD (Hey! Manhattan) but the whole production run was blighted by "bronzing", a progressive condition that renders the play quality to that of a dusty and scratched LP.

Wasn't that version of Bonny weird, the vocal is too quite at the beginning and fades in and the whole thing sounds sort of half arsed (but quite good at the same time). What on earth prompted it's release?

Kevin Armstrong also fluffs the guitar solo(or is that Reading?)but i would imagine Paddy and Martin's reservations about SM is linked to having to play the same songs on tour long past the enjoyment stage.I may be wrong, but i agree it does sound a bit half arsed.
Both CD singles(Hey Manhattan & TGC) go for about a tenner second hand these days,I've got the Nightingales CD but it replaced the 12" version with the album one.

I hope to keep the blog going 'til the cows come home or a word from the 'band' but most of the rips are from my vinyl.I would be nice to have an official digital version of 'Radio love',a classic that may fade into the ether if Kitchenware don't sort it out. blink.gif
Has anyone heard the 'Silhouettes' bootleg?i have heard the sound is brilliant, but i have never even seen a copy..

I did`nt need one, it was just a straightforward registration and off you go or alternatively free but admittedly rather long rapidshare download.

This is new. And that's weird, I have 'Silhouettes,' but the tracklist is totally different to the one on mp3panda...it wasn't that good quality either, I wasn't moved to replace any of the 'official sproutnet bootlegs' that some of you may have. (All the links there are dead, before anyone gets too excited.)

Is the rapidshare link the same tracklist as on mp3panda?
