Currently have Duke Special's Songs from the Deep Forest on loop, it's most marvellously tuneful and idiosyncratic. He's on a mini tour too, will be off to see him on Sunday night in a small pub in Brighton. It's scandalous that someone who writes so wonderfully isn't more widely known.

and 9 months on, in the Komedia. God, this guy is an enigma. Marvellous songwriter, brilliant performer, and he's playing mostly to a sparse audience of nodding post menopausal women who probably like his singing and think he needs a haircut. He got some great reviews this tour, and rightly so, but he needs to do something about his demographic.
