Hidee,
Wooohoooo! I know but I will keep my mouth shut and my fingers still! <Smile>!
James Moore - June 9, 2010 03:36 PM (GMT)
Is this the Herschel Foshee Junior quartet or Melody Boys quartet? The only two I think I can name are on the Left and Right-Mary Jarvis Adams on piano, and Doy Ott-accordian. Some of the other mens face's look familiar but I'm not sure of their names.

Since Ms. Hidee knows the answer, it must be a group from the lone star state of Texas.

I'm keeping quiet. Gonna let Gayla answer this one!
Gayla - June 13, 2010 04:12 AM (GMT)
Hidee Everybody,
I apologize for being so slow to answer! I was in AR to hear Charlie Waller and the Florida Boys and the Voyagers Quartet for a SGMA fundraiser. Had a wonderful time!
This picture is of one of the "conglomerations" of The Melody Boys Quartet of Little Rock, AR. The members are: Piano - Marie Jarvis (she played for TMBQ when Joe roper was in the army - though I do not know if this is that time frame); Tenor - "Little" Island Davis;
Lead - Clarence Hidelberg; Baritone - Kenneth Scroggins; Bass - Ernest Lindsey; accordion - Doy Ott. I know he was also the piano player at one time - I do not know if it was before of after this. Gerald Williams helped me with the names I must admit! Though I did know at least part of each name! Gerald remembers hearing this group. I did not ask him for a time frame. Do you know John?
