SOLID GOSPEL TO HOST 60TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY OF THE MELODY BOYS QUARTET

Little Rock, AR – May 12, 2009 - 2009 is an historic year for Gerald Williams and the Melody Boys Quartet, as this is the year they celebrate 60 years in Gospel Music. On Monday, May 18 at 9:00am, Solid Gospel will be hosting a live one-hour on-air special in celebration of this historic achievement. The program will feature interviews with the current members of the Quartet, as well as songs from their recent critically-acclaimed recording, Destination Heaven.

The current lineup of The Melody Boys Quartet is one of their finest. Gerald Williams is the only remaining original member of the Quartet that began in 1949 when he was just 16 years old, and has come full circle from the youngest traveling bass singer to the “most seasoned” traveling bass singer in Gospel Music today. 23-year-old baritone and pianist Caleb Matheny has been a breath of fresh air with his classic piano styling and his on-target baritone vocals. Tenor Tim Williams was a veteran performer on the west coast before bringing his fine tenor voice to The Melody Boys Quartet. The newest member of the Quartet, 26-year-old Alan Kendall, rounds out the group with his solid lead vocals.

Solid Gospel and The Melody Boys Quartet look forward to presenting you this historic program on May 18 at 9:00am. We hope that you will tune in!
