Title: Silliest thing you've done...
CanChik - October 10, 2007 08:18 PM (GMT)
Some of you have been asking, so I thought I'd just start a thread:
I haven't been on much since NQC cuz of being busy with the new job and all, but then last Friday I did something silly.
I was walking along a sidewalk near the house, goofing around with my sis, tripped over a broken piece of sidewalk that has always been there, fell using my right hand instead of my nose to break my fall.
That was silly number one.
I decided over our long Thanksgiving weekend that it was bruised not broken and didn't get an xray.
Silly number two.
Went to work yesterday thinking i could type and write as normal.
Silly number three.
Everyone at work decided I needed to get it xrayed, lol. I decided to go to a walkin clinic instead of ER.
Silly number 4.
Between the walkin and the xray place, i was still gone for 4 hours.
Silly number 5.
(Did stupid things at work which would put this in the triple digits, but trying to stay on track)
Got home, message from clinic said there was a fracture, please get your xrays and meet the doc at the fracture clinic.
Silly number 6,7,8: Following the advice of a walkin, calling my boss and having him worry that i was gonna be in a cast for six weeks, worrying all night about how to keep my job.
Long story short (too late!?) the fracture clinic doesnt 'do' hands...the plastc surgery dept doesn't 'do' hands...Im back at the ER!!!! ARRGGHHHHH..
I have a piece of bone chipped off the end of the bone from my baby finger yo my wrist. They won't cast it, I have a flexible brace and am now on 'light duties".
It should feel better in 2-3 weeks, followed by another xray.
Wooohoooo.
The doc says I'll probably have arthritis there.
So my silliness has now given me a weather portent for the rest of my life!
But it could have been worse...
So I've spent 20 mins telling you my story, typing with one hand.
That brings the silly count to 9.
But getting my friends to pray was not silly, just the best part of this....
What's your 'silly' story?

Oh, Lorraine you poor thing.... did your sis help you up when you fell, or did she stand there and laugh (since you didn't think anything was broken)? My sis would have stood there and laughed.
I would have used my hand instead of my nose to break my fall too. You're a hoot. :rollinglaughing:

Okay....several years late replying to this, LOL.
I guess one of the silliest things I've ever done was to whistle at some cute guys in the grocery store. I was a teenager and was prone to fits of random idiocy, LOL. Anyway, it turned scary very quickly. They followed me and my friend through the store and once we got in the car, followed us down the road. Needless to say, I'm very selective on who receives my whistles these days, LOL.
Of course, I could mention the many times I've stuck my foot in my mouth...ended up embarassing myself completely. So much so, I've never lived it down! {No, I can't post what I said - your eyes are much too delicate, LOL!}
Or there was the time I went to the movies and accidentally locked arms and got all cozy with the WRONG guy!! Now THAT was embarassing!! To top it off, the guy never said a word, but his girlfriend was fuming! LOL I still turn red when I think about that!! :giggle:
