Personality: BlackGuilmon is an interesting character to befriend. Although he is pretty friendly around others, he tends to care more about himself and even makes a few rude remarks on occasion. He also almost always seems to be angry about something, perhaps something in his past or something else. However, whenever he isn't angry, he can be very loyal to his friends, although he can sometimes take advantage of them as well. In summary, his personality is a strange mix of good and evil, and it is unsure which side of this twisted personality is dominant.

History: BlackGuilmon is actually in the second cycle of Digimon life. In the first cycle, he started out as a Digitama formed from a mirror form of data from Guilmon, but after hatching, he was instantly plagued with a powerful virus. The virus overpowered him in his Baby I stage, and soon afterwards, the virus gained total control of him, making him pure evil and changing him into BlackJarimon. After Digivolving twice and reaching his Child level, he began to roam the land as a rogue Digimon, deleting every Digimon that got in his way. Soon, he gathered enough data to Digivolve farther and farther, finally reaching his Ultimate level, BlackMegidramon. As soon as the infected Ultimate reached this stage, he went on a spree of destruction, wanting to eradicate the entire Digital World. However, he was quickly stopped by the Digimon Sovereign, destroyed with only a single attack. BlackMegidramon was instantly reverted to a Digitama, and when he resumed his Baby I form, the virus had been deleted. While he is still a BlackGuilmon with no recollection of what happened in his past cycle, all traces of the evil virus that controlled him appear to be gone. However, now after reaching Child level, he has begun to show mixed signals of good and evil, so there is a chance that the virus could still live on within him, waiting to make its move.
