Of course characters do want to have work. You're free to apply to any kind of work without asking unless a place is owned by an actual character. To do so just reply to this topic stating where your character works and in what position. In case a property is owned by another character you’ll need to contact that character as only they can add and remove staff of their place by replying here.

Currently all the places that can be worked at or owned are listed here. In the cases of places that cannot be worked at, but are listed here, such as the Sanitarium, they can still be owned as long as the character has a valid reason why the deed to that property came into their possession. IE. Inherited.

If you want a place yourself but not one of the existing places then contact one of the admins in order to request the place, and give a good reason why you should have it.

Ana Venera would like to work at the Homeless Shelter part time, considering she spends so much time there anyway. She could be a caretaker of some of the kids, partial houseparent, however you want to look at it. Basically someone who makes the kids food, gets them in bed, and helps take care of the place. It would be greatly appreciated.
