It was exactly five past five in the morning when the buzzing from the alarm clock started to chime into the ears of a certain lycan who probably had only been in bed for little under an hour but sleep was an option when things needed to be done or it was quiet outside. Silence. In the large city it was never quiet, but there was a gap in the traffic and a brief encounter of peaceful expances. It was this time that Harper cherised and he never passed off the opportunity to get his few moments of solitude.
Pressing his index finger on the 'off' button, there was a short intake of air before the sheets were thrown back and rushes of chilled air caught his skin. Thinking ahread, he had left his window open so that it would wake him up quickly... Needless to say, it worked and as he soaked in the cold morning he felt his mind start to opperate and function at a level that he needed it to.

Rolling off of the bed, Harper didn't notise he was only in his boxer shorts, his sweat pants were on the floor and must have been kicked off at some point in the night... In the back of his mind he hoped that his new roommate would roll over and ignore the sounds of his morning wake up call, she didn't seem like the type but it was so early that maybe she would see it as a fluke in the system.
Humans liked flukes, they seemed to strive on them and find loopholes in everything.
Standing still for only another moment, he padded almost silently out of his room and into the living area. His shoes and jeans were on the couch waiting for him and he slid them on fluidly. After the zipper was pulled, he was ready for his little adventure. His skin was tingling, and he knew that it would be amazing to get out there and run, feel his body against the wind and when he changed, feel the wind in his fur. It was an experience he wanted... Now.
Grinning, he walked to the door and stepped out. He left the door unlocked when he closed it behind him so that he wouldn't make much noise when he came back in, it was a matter of secretivity when the subject of running came up. This was his other life, his mistress, the love affair that could make or break him... His soul.

Jogging down the stairs, he went out the front doors and let those close behind him before he ran into the morning fog.

It was about two hours later before he was even near the apartment building again. His body was covered in droplets of sweat and his chest was rising and falling hard as his pulse raced. His mind felt so free and he felt as if he were running on the clouds. If he had been seen then he might have looked like a drug user in the way he looked careless and light, but in more ways then one that was the perfect excuse.
Going to the main door to the building, he rested his hands on his knees and just breathed deeply in an attempt to look as if he hadn't tired himself out. On one paw, he was more awake then ever but on the other paw, his body was telling him it was tired.
Feeling a little better after a few moments, he opened the door and walked in. This time he took his time up the steps and walked into the apartment as quietly as he could manage. There were things to do this morning.

Aedn shot up in the bed and swiveled her head around for whatever had woken her up. She never woke on her own this early in the morning, but it took very little to jolt her from a dead sleep. Resting once she realized the cause of the noise, the brunette curled onto her side in the dark of her bedroom and focused her eyes onto the alarm clock on her bed stand. Emerald eyes widened slightly as the neon red numbers glared at her. Five in the morning, she thought with surprise, my roommate wakes up at five in the morning. If this knowledge had come to her in the dead of the day she might've laughed, but it had not. Instead, she sat in the bed with her blanket pulled around her as she watched the numbers. There was something you were suppose to do in the morning, she was sure of it.

Coffee. That was the thing. Coffee. You were suppose to coffee yourself in the morning. Relatively sure that there was something wrong with how that was phrased, the tiny female slipped off of the bed and cracked her toes as she heard the front door shut. Standing in a nightgown that might've been seen as seductive if she had been any tall, the girl padded to her own door and left the room. Grateful that it was relatively dark outside, Aedn walked down the hallway and past the windows in order to go to the kitchen. Standing in the doorway, she stared stupidly at the coffee pot as though she intended for it to turn on itself. "Fine, you see if I care," she grumbled as she prepared it and then flicked the switch. The coffee-ing process had been started, she thought with satisfaction. Knowing that it would take time for the coffee to be ready, she quickly went to use the bathroom. Thinking obviously had found its way into her mind at some point or another because she remembered to wash her hands and then stared down at what she was wearing. Even though it was longer on her than it had been intended for, the nightgown still only went to an inch or so above her knees, and might've proved itself awkward to wear if Harper had still been in the room.

Knowing that her beloved coffee wouldn't be ready yet, Aedn tip-toed to her room and found a tank top and pair of shorts that she wouldn't have worn during the midday, but wouldn't mind wearing for her jog. It was early, so chances were that very few people would actually pay attention to her. A shower would necessary when she came back, which meant she had a reasonable opening of time to change into normal clothes. Throwing her outfit on, she folded up the nightgown and placed it on her dresser so that she'd be able to wear it that evening. Slipping on her sneakers, she made her way back to the kitchen and prepared a cup of the elixir of life. Glancing at a clock that revealed it was now about five thirty, she drank the liquid and washed out her cup. Smiling at the thought of being able to run, she walked out of the home and closed the door. It hadn't been locked, so chances were that Harper didn't have his keys either. The chill of the crisp morning air made her shiver ever so slightly before she took her run.

Allowing herself to jog for about an hour, she returned to the home and noted that her roommate wasn't back yet. Humming to herself, she returned to her room to pick out an actual outfit for the day and a towel. Stripping herself of the sweat covered garments, she threw them into the dirty clothes basket and wrapped her towel around herself so it would be less awkward if Harper suddenly got home, though she doubted it. Not wanting to waste the day, she made her way to the bathroom where she washed, dried, and dressed herself. Putting the damp towel on a rack to dry, she emerged from the bathroom wearing a tight black t-shirt that made her breasts more apparent, a loose pair of jeans with slight paint stains, and a belt that held said jeans up from falling into the fashion that seemed so popular among teenage boys. Her thin brown hair hanging loosely around her face, she combed her fingers through it to make sure it hadn't knotted. The small female was about to get herself another cup of coffee when she heard the door opening. Turning to see who it was, Aedn had to smile. "Good morning, Harper," she chirped out cheerfully, taking in the sight of his sweat-covered body. It was amazing the wonders coffee did for her personality.

For the first time in his lycan life, Harper was mildly startled by the sound of greeting that escaped from the lips of his roommate. His body tensed for a few seconds and then recovering to the facade he had created for his 'human' life, he relaxed and grinned, "Hey there," He glanced at what she was wearing, the lycan in him made himliterally only see the clothes, no perverse nature in the slightest, "Sleep well?" His question was a little apologetic as he assumed that he had woken her up if she had had time to get up and ready when it was only a little past seven am.
When in the pack, nakedness was nothing. It meant very little unless it was infront of your mate and so when Harper pulled his top off, he thought very little of it. So as he wandered into the kitchen, mopping his face with his shirt, he assumed that it would have gone as unnoticed as if he had been totally butt-naked... But he did forget that she was 'human'.

Curling his hand around the fridge handle, Harper paused to think for a moment. His mental check list was displeased already, as he didn't immediately jump in the shower but he felt like talking to Aedn a little longer, "Have you eaten yet?" He asked her, glancing to her as if to warn her against lying to him. Another pack brother habit, one that he would find hard to elude for the rest of his life. "Have I cooked for you yet?" He asked her as he began pulling things out of the fridge. He hoped she liked filling her belly because he didn't do people not eating or 'dieting' around him.
As he pulled out ingredients for pancakes, from the recipe Faith taught him, Harper also took out some bacon and wondered just what his pack would be doing today. It didn't matter overly much, just he hoped that Aedn could meet them and would like her. She was a really nice person, someone he could easily live with and it seemed to work very well... Maybe he'd just have to run the idea by her later.

"Well, I think I might've but it was an ungodly hour of the day when I woke up, so I can't remember how I slept," Aedn said, pretending to glare at him. A smile broke across her face and shattered the facade of being solemn, however. "Nah, I slept pretty well, actually.... You?" Leaning against the counter, Aedn made sure that the things she touched with her skin were only things she had touched before. She didn't particularly feel like gaining access to images that weren't from her own past. The small female blinked in surprise when he stripped off his shirt, but then composed her face back to normal. It was his house, and it wasn't as though it was particularly shocking. Deciding to remain polite as long as he was acting casual about it, Aedn didn't allow her gaze to drop to his stomach or chest despite the curiosity that was beginning to well within her. "Do you always wake up at that time?" she asked, making sure that she wouldn't be overly surprised if the occasion rose again.

Seeing his glance, the brunette grinned sheepishly. "Ah... Not exactly? But I did drink coffee!" she replied, the last said as though some type of defense against the half-accusation of his words. "Nope, I don't believe you have, though there has been talk that we're suppose to prove to each other that we won't accidentally poison one another with our cooking," she answered, grinning even more though in her typical childish way. He would know, she knew instinctively, if she lied to him. That of course would lead to him not trusting her, something she was hoping to avoid. "Though I feel obligated to inform you that I generally eat as though I've never been fed before," she warned, her tone more than mildly impish. Watching as he got ingredients together, she looked around for something that she might be able to do without getting in his way. Deciding to back away from the stove and fridge so he'd have his room, she leaned against a wall. "So, what are the plans of the day?" She was half hoping that he didn't have anything too complex set so that she might get to hang out with him. The younger of the two had yet to make friends with others, and felt herself being relaxed around him.

A light smile spread accross the dear lycan's face as Aedn joked about the previous night's sleep she had had. In his gut there was a flicker of anger towards himself for waking her as he had but that was a fluke that could be ironed out, either through a quieter alarm clock or just his natural ability to wake up at bizzare and ungodly hours. He needed to wake up early to jog, to change and get the build up of energy out of his body, otherwise she would have to deal with him boucing off the walls -- literally.
Pausing for a moment to concider his sleep, he bit his lip and the smile returned, "I slept very well, thank you." No dreams... It was a bonus that he'd always be thankful for. His dreams were not something to appreciate.

While pulling things from the fridge, he mentally recollected on any likes and dislikes, allergies and general avoidences that Aedn might have mentioned in the short time that they had lived together. He wasn't used to cooking for a woman, or even living with one -- his wife hadn't been the most girly in the world -- and so he was trying to remember what it was like when he was a child... Without any luck. "Hurray for coffee" He smiled brightly as he started to pull things out to cook, turning the stove on and putting the pan on the ring.
Laughing gently at she reminded him that he had to prove to her that he wouldn't poison her. His cooking was edible at least.
"That's the only way to be around me." He chuckled, wondering if she had had the time to notice just how much he ate on a daily basis. It was amusing to watch, as if he forgot to act human, the reactions were laughable. He breathed in slowly as he finally started cooking, waiting for a huge explosion... Which had never occured but he still expected it.
"Hmm? Oh, plans?" He paused, thinking, "I just need to make a few phone calls really, just wish my sister happy birthday, 'bout it." Moon's birthday was never something celebrated but the small achnoledgments were always welcome. "How about you?"
