What published P&P sequels, or other fanfiction-y things, have you read, and what did you think of them?
Me, I've read Darcy's Story by Janet Aylmer, and the Fitzwilliam Darcy: Gentleman trilogy by Pamela Aidan. Aidan's books, IMHO, were so much better. Darcy's Story had huge chunks of text copied directly from P&P, and though what was original was well-written, there was very little of it! I would have rather the author had glossed over those parts that Jane had already written, and instead focused on the interactions that weren't as well described in the original novel. I think that Aidan's trilogy, though, did this well; and though Pamela Aidan's writing isn't much like Jane Austen's, it was good nonetheless. Also to be noted that Pamela Aidan introduced new plotlines and new characters into her books, while Janet Aylmer didn't use any. |

There is also Mr. Darcy takes a Wife by Linda Berdoll. I haven't read it yet, but I know it is a trilogy, and the third one has yet to be published. Anyone heard of it?
