Who else likes this great author? ^__^ I've only read two of her books so far, North and South and Wives and Daughters. I have a book that contains Cranford and Cousin Phyllis on my bookshelf, too; I tried the former, but couldn't get into it. I think I'll give it another try soon. Anyway, I first heard of her when I saw the BBC miniseries of N&S; and I really liked it, so then I read the book! It's a shame she died before finishing W&D; I think she could have written a great deal more of it (though some people think it only wanted a short chapter).

I've read W&D and Cranford, though I also found Cranford hard to get into. It was a long time since I read them. Inspired also by seeing the BBC N&S I intend to read the book. I remember enjoying W&D. Uh, this isn't very helpful as I can't remember enough about her writing style to say anything remotely intelligent!
