I split this into a new topic. The other is more of an announcement.
Activity is one of the hardest parts of running a site or forum. I suggest posting the the advertising forums at CoS (Mugglenet) or Sonorus at HPANA (Make sure you post around first, my topic got deleted Topsite lists are also quite helpful in getting new members to check out your site. But I wouldn't use too many, otherwise it seems like you're sort of desperate (even though in most cases people are). Another good place to put an ad is in your signature on forums. Put in a little button or text ad about your site. Make sure it isn't too big though. One of the most important things about advertising is to always follow rules. If a site says you need 10 posts to advertise, be sure that you get 10 posts first. You'll get a bad reputation from other possible members, and they'll be less likely to join your site. As for help, good places would be forums or sites that offer forums for job posting/resume postings (Like we have here). Also you could have a little text in your signature on a forum saying "{site name} is now hiring {position}. Check out {link} for more info." That should draw some people to your site if they are intersted in the position. Another good way would be to maybe PM a member of a forum that you think has a good talent for the job. Like if they've posted some good graphics, or they help out a lot, etc. That's how I got my job here at RAHP. Hope this helps. |
