Physical description of character (at least one paragraph of 50 words): Charlie is tall, with dark, curly hair that he usually keeps moderately long. He has blue eyes and a big smile. He has a nice body, in that it's fit, but he's not overly buff. As far as fashion goes, he was raised in the upper parts of London society, so he knows what looks good and what doesn't. He likes wearing clothes that are comfortable, like laid back jeans and long sleaved t-shirts. But he knows what looks good and what's expected, so he dresses up when it's required of him. He's even been known to wear a plaid scarf in chilly weather. He can often be found wearing pressed, tan pants, a button-up collared shirt, and a dark colored knit sweater.

Charlie grew up rather well off, and had a happy childhood. He could have grown rather spoiled and stuck-up because of his fortunate backround, but through working at the software company that he now co-owns, he learned the meaning of hardwork and how rewarding it can be.

Charlie has a very big heart, and has a hard time seeing the bad in anyone, he is very easy to make with friends with. However, he often gets frustrated with how shallow and fickle people can be sometimes. He feels cheated because he so readily opens up to people, and then they take advantage of his generosity and fun-loving nature.

Charlie also loves to have a good time, and was a bit of a partier in college. He doesn't have a problem with alcohol, he knows when to set his limit, but at times he can overindulge if he's not paying attention. This has never gotten him into trouble though, and it happens less and less as he gets older and more mature.

History (two or more paragraphs, 150 words or more):

The McAlister's are a rather weathly family in the upper class of London society, and Charlie grew up lacking nothing with his sisters Rebecca and Alison.

Charlie has had a good life with few down points. However, he had a relationship with a girl that he dated for over a year, but eventually realized that she was only dating him because of his money, connections, and good-looks. They hadn't become too attached to each other, so he wasn't heartbroken by the ordeal, but it still discouraged him. He hopes to find a woman who will get to know him as a person, and not just fawn over him because of his money and curly hair. He has a great regard for someone with a genuine spirit. He still gives people the benefit of the doubt when he meets them, but he's a little bit more on his guard than he was a year ago.

Charlie works at a software company that he co-owns with a man that had worked with his father, and the business is going well, so Charlie supports himself and his sister Alison this way.

Charlie has been friends with Will Gardner ever since he can remember, and they have both recently moved into an estate in Pemberly as they research business opportunities in the area. Will for his hotel chain, Charlie for the software company.

Walking across the deck of the ferry, Dyan adjusted with one hand the strap of her red bag as it hung heavily on her shoulder, while the other hand grasped a to-go cup of coffee. Walking from under the ferry's awning, she blinked momentarily as she stepped out of the shade and the sun hit her eyes. Once the woman had made her way to the railing, she slung the red bag off her shoulder and placed it on the deck, though she was careful to keep it closely guarded by her sandal clad feet. Reaching up a now free left hand she moved the sunglasses on her head down to rest on the bridge of her nose. The long, dark hair the sunglasses had been holding in place now whipped across her face as it was left free to the winds blowing across the channel.

The day was a relatively warm one, even for late April, but the wind on the water was chilly, and Dyan pulled her grey sweater closer to her body. She knew she would have been warmer if she'd stayed away from the railing of the ferry, but she hadn't wanted to risk any of the other travelers trying to strike up a conversation with her. Hopefully, now that she was standing out in the spray of the waves and the chilly wind, she would be left alone. "At least tourist season hasn't started yet," the young woman thought to herself, shuddering slightly at the prospect of being surrounded by happy families armed with cameras, sunscreen, suitcases, and loud anticipation. She didn't have any particular aversion to people, or even to crowds to be honest, but that day she just wanted to be alone. What she was doing was hard enough without cheerful, curious old ladies asking her every question under the planet about who she was, where she was from, what her family was like, and what her summer plans were.

Sighing, Dyan, took a sip of the hot, unfortunately weak, black coffee in her cup, and looked out over the water toward the shore that was nearing. It had been many years since she'd been to Mackinaw Island, since her family had made regular trips there in the summers while she was growing up. Those trips and this one couldn't have been more different. Then, she was a happy girl, excited about spending a few weeks of her summer riding horses, swimming, eating fudge, and dancing to the swing music that permeated the island during the long summer evenings. Now, she was a grown woman, coming to the island in hope of a place to disappear from her old life, to look for a job among the shops, hotels, and bed & breakfasts that catered the tourist class she had once belonged in. If things worked out as she'd planned, this time she wouldn't be leaving as soon as the last of the lilacs stopped blooming. If things worked out better than she'd planned, no one would ever find out where she was, and she'd never have to leave......unless tragedy struck her here too.
