Hi can you help?

I'm interested in making my Mini into a Rally car, i have found that Square make a M03 size rally block tire, or that you can cut others down and stick them together, but i was thinking about the ground clearance as well, any advice on where i might get square's M03 rally block tires and how to jack up the car slightly.

Or any other general advice on how to go about converting a mini 03 into a rally car?

thanks
P

We had this question this week on the Modelsport forum laugh.gif.

Basically, you just need some touring car length shocks (60-64mm length) and springs, and some sort of 'sump' guard made from scrap lexan. And some suitable tyres. wink.gif.

You can't get massive ride height because of driveshaft angles, but if you don't mind the car looking a bit out of scale, then some touring car tyres (and the body cut to fit them) will help a lot.

Theres a couple of guides online:

I saw the -minirally link which is what got me thinking about it, but also saw a US ebay item from square for mini (m03) size rally tires.

so thanks for the links, i think i'll do the bash guard out of Aluminium,

I see what you mean about the drive shaft angles - although could you put longer drive shafts and longer suspension arms - i realise that the wheels would stick out a little, but you could increase the wheel arches - probably a stupid idea though

Again thanks

Wishbones, driveshafts and upper links from a TL01 bolt straight onto an M03, it takes the width of the chasis up from 160mm to 190mm. Luckily, I have a Mini body that will fit that width spot on... biggrin.gif
