Seriously I'm curious about the motor and esc. I've not paid any attention to brushed stuff in a while. Is it a v end bell?
Is it legal too ;)
We might want it scrutinised lol
Might look into getting one.

ESC is an old GM V12. Motor is standard laydown endbell and totally legal. Any examination welcome!

Roughly how often are you skimming that and changing brushes?

Not particularly often, probably get three or more meetings before the motor starts to feel "soft" and I skim. I don't change the brushes every time, I've only used about three sets all year.

For club racing with the tourer on the slippy floor you don't need to do a huge amount of motor maintenance. When you skim/change brushes, the biggest difference is in the "rip" of the motor, top end is pretty similar.

You need to gear them right to get longer life though, I geared the 19T too high in the buggy at Oxclose and cooked a pair of brushes in less than 10 minutes running.

I'm pretty sure the black/grey foams (U6628) are harder than the blues. White foams are definitely the softest (and as I mentioned to you the other day Colin, they are the reason you were losing tyres, they let the tyre deform so much that they come off the rim).

White is definatly softest.
Blue is hard or certanly harder.
But the descriptions of the greys is a bit grey ;)
Some sites describe them as medium, others competition.
Perhaps I should have a feel
