Following a Pyrrhic victory at Twycross, the UNS Shogun has docked at Hirado Pirate Station, hidden deep within Sigma-occupied space, for much needed repairs, resupply, and rest. The captain has mandated that official leave is to be granted to personnel at the discretion of their immediate superior officers, when it would not interfere with planned drills or training exercises. All crew are cautioned to maintain strict adherence to the UN Spacy code of professional conduct while at Hirado, and not to traverse the station alone.

UN Spacy Intelligence and GALSAT deep-space telemetry on Avemaria have been tracking the movements of an unidentified formation of starships moving through the SSF occupation zone. It is speculated that these vessels are connected to the attack on Guardian Prime by units of the rogue Meltrandi armada, though Zentraedi military experts argue this would mean a sudden, radical shift in course for the battle group - highly uncharacteristic behaviour for a rogue unit.

The Macross City Stock Exchange index fell more than two hundred points today on news that the UN General Assembly approved measures to introduce more currency to the market in order to finance increased military spending. Economists have raised fears that a severe inflation spike is imminent.
