Name: Tomislav Alen Zarkovich, but everyone calls him "Tom," "Zarko" or "Tommy." Tomislav isn't a very attractive name.

House: Ravenclaw
Blood-Type: Halfblood
Alliance: He supports the Order, but he's not about to fight for them any time soon.
Background: He was born in Croatia to a Croatian muggle soldier and an English pureblooded ex-Gryffindor witch.

{ APPEARANCE }
Eyes: Hazel
Hair: Light brown, he enjoys hair gel very much.
Height: 6'2". Yeah, he's a pretty tall guy.
Body Type: Tall, lanky. Fairly fit - he plays Quidditch for his house, but he's not all that muscley.
Dressing Style: He's got the typical fashion sense of a 17-year-old boy. Although he knows how to dress up and look nice, this isn't knowledge he's going to use more than once a week or so. Most of the time, when he's not in school robes he'll just wear Quidditch robes, soccer jerseys or plain muggle outfits.

He's not the hardest working guy in Ravenclaw, he coasts through on intelligence most of the time. Personality: If you say the name "Tomislav Zarkovich" to a group of very different people, you're bound to get a group of very different responses, ranging from "he's an awesome quidditch player" to "he's the world's biggest, most arrogant prat" to just about anything else under a purely proverbial sun. Well, if there's something to be said for Tommy it is that he is a very polarizing personality, capable of eliciting a variety of reactions. People love him, people despise him, people can barely tolerate him, but people will just about always remember him. He is clearly capable of great things, very few people in Hogwarts (and Britain, for that matter) have the same gift of gab that he does. He's able to talk his way out of almost everything, but he'd prefer to talk his way into things. He talks his way into (and out of) detentions, into (and out of) fights and on the good days, into girls' dorms. If he wanted to be a politician for some reason he would probably be a very good one: the white lie is an artform to Tommy, he weaves a tangled web but he is almost always able to get his stories straight and weave his way out of it.
The thing that defines Tomislav, however, is his underlying brilliance. The kid is an absolute genius, although you'd probably never guess it on first impression. He's well-versed in muggle literature, oddly enough. His father, despite being a soldier, was and is a very well-read and well-educated man. Tomislav's read almost everything ever written by Shakespeare, at first out of obligation and then out of enjoyment. His grades are towards the highest end of the class, although most of his teachers tend to dislike him due to what comes across as haughtiness and self-importance. Yep, our Tommy's the know-it-all. He just...knows everything, kind of. He's never afraid to speak his piece, and he is often capable of convincing people to believe whatever he's saying. He makes very logical, coherent arguments, appealing to people's senses of logic. He's not at all afraid of spotlight, he absolutely loves attention, and is often miserable without it. He'll sing a drunken song, he'll play a drunken prank, he'll kick the Quaffle around as if it were a soccer ball, he'll monopolize conversations. A very large part of our Tomislav Zarkovich wants everybody to have his name on their lips. He doesn't care much if everyone likes him, he's smart enough to know that will never happen, but he does care if everyone knows who he is.
{ BACKGROUND HISTORY }
Mother: Sarah Kighty Zarkovich
Father: Goran Zarkovich
Ancestry: Father comes from old money back in Croatia, mother comes from a family about as well off as the Weasleys.
Siblings: Only child. Tommy likes it that way, more attention for him!
Background Story: Contrary to what many would assume, Tomislav Zarkovich was born, bred and raised in England. He speaks with a proper Geordie accent, after all. There is a rather odd story to how his parents met: Goran Zarkovich was a highly decorated Croatian Muggle soldier while Sarah Kighty was a young witch traveling wherever her parents' (small) dowry would allow her to go. She made the fateful decision to go on a holiday to muggle Croatia and she came back with the love of her life. Love at first sight. Awww. Goran and Sarah went to England together, much to the confusion of Sarah's friends. They married almost immediately after and had their first and only child Tomislav at a young age. Goran learned that she was a witch soon after, that was obviously a bit of a shock to him but she promised she'd live in Muggle Newcastle with him and they'd try to pass as a regular muggle family. Tommy knew basically from birth that he was probably going to be a wizard and he was probably going to go away to Hogwarts. He still doesn't really understand his parents and why they got together, nobody really does.
Tommy was a very boisterous, curious and active child. With Goran's money the family was upper middle class, as an only child the son basically got just about whatever he wanted and had a good time with it. Upon getting his letter from Hogwarts and being formally introduced to the wizarding world, Tommy was immediately captivated by the whole spectacle and he decided that unlike his mother he'd probably want to live the rest of his life there. He'd only heard the stories, but actually seeing the castle and being there was amazing. Tommy easily found a lot of friends in Ravenclaw House and he became very proud of being sorted there.
{ OTHER }
Pets: An owl he named "Buljina," which is Croatian for "owl." This was during the years when Goran (to his credit, successfully) taught Tomislav his language.
