-sound of music-

what i want you guys to do is to write a little about what you think about the movie, and then ofcourse i would love it if youd take the extra time and find a homepage or a trailer of some sort so we all can see for your selves if this is soemthing wed want to see, nomatter how old or stupid the movie is.

please rate and warn properly.

and discussion is allowed smile.gif

EDIT: i noted that everyone listed the cinema, i mean the last movie you saw. as in dvd and tv too.

last movie i saw

the wishing stairs i actually liked it, it was a good wierd Korean movie, and it had me laughing more than screaming but i dont mind, i liked it alot. ok the story is this; there is some stairs infront of this artist school (yea like the one in fame *laughs*) with 27 steps, it legend has it that if you walk it and it suddenly has 28 steps you can make a wish. reciting some litle rhyme with some damn fox. O_o the entire movie i waited for a rabid foxboy to turn up and shred them to pieces, that sadly didnt happen. the thing with these wishes made on these foxstairs is that they are somewhat cursed, so things dont really happen the way the wish is intended.. (oooo thats a old plot huh?) but never the less it works. smile.gif - i forgot to mention that the whole movie has this really intense and really clear lesbian issue too, the lesson they are tring to get through there, in that. i dont really get tho.

- and i found this streamer of it, its Mediaplayer so youd have to download it.
PAGE WHERE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE TRAILER FOR -THE WISHING STAIRS

it is a Korean horror flick, and it sure got its scary moments, and by far its funny ones too. so id rate it R for the cheap rip off of sadako from the ring, that shows up.

I saw the ring 2 in theatres yesterday. I didn't really think it was very good, but hey, I screamed a few times.

spoiler- There is a part where they are followed by dear in the woods, and they try to kill them with their horns and smash in the windshield and stuff. very cool. never thought dear could seem so malicious. blink.gif

The last film I saw at the cinema was The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou. I loved it! I giggled like a child mst ofthe way through it - until the end, when I cried sad.gif

I have loved Bill Murray since I first saw Ghostbusters when I was 8, and he's so good in this film. None of the characters in it are perfect or 100% likeable, but they all have redeeming features that make it impossible to dislike any of them. It's rated R, or 15 in the UK.

Oh and it has the cutest stop-motion animation sea creatures too!

(And the soundtrack is marvellous)

So yes, go and see it biggrin.gif

The last movie I saw in the cinema was 2046.

It's a Chinese movie and I went to see it becuase it had very good reviews and because Zhang Ziyi plays in it (one of my favorite actresses).
It's about a writer, his futuristic novel and the various women he meets (who tend to end up in his fiction)
I sounded good, but I was very disappointed. The movie hops around to different (real and imagined) times. I found it all very confusing and becuase I couldn't find any recognisable plot or storyline, I found it very boring.
There was some 'deep' meaningful dialogue trown about, that I just didn't get.
All in all, not recommended.

[edit: But if you're still interested, here's were you can find the trailer (language: chinese, subtitles: french)]

The last film I saw was A River Runs Through It

It was on TV and I've seen it about a million times.

It's based on the novel by Normal Maclean, and is a true story about two brothers- Norman (Craig Sheffer) and Paul (Brad Pitt) growing up in Montana. Paul is rebellious of his father, Rev. Maclean (Tom Skerrit), while Norman is well-educated and has his feet on the ground. Although very different the one love that the two brothers share is fly fishing. Ultimately Paul's wild lifestyle ends up costing him and his family dearly. A beautifully directed film by Robert Redford, which also stars Brenda Blethyn.

I do like this, and it's a grower. I find it similar in a lot of ways to 'Legends of the Fall' another Brad Pitt film about brothers growing up in 1920's America. Both are worth a look.

Oooooooo Aeneus that looks very very pretty, or is it tastefull, you know what i mean.. im defiantly gonna pick tht up if i come across it.

hmmm well the last movie i saw is Seven years in Tibet its my own dvd, HAHA but that dont make it a bad movie, i LOVE it to death, its beautiful and a very well told story. .. for those who didnt see it, the movie is about Heinrich Harrer a mountain climber from Austria, who goes to (i belive its Nepal) to climb a mountain with some other fellow nazi dudes (yea well the movie is from those days where Austria was a part of nazi-germany) - everything goes wrong and he ends up being gone from the worlds eye for 7 years. in these seven years he is one of the 5 outlanders that has been allowed in Tibet to that point. He becomes friend with the Dalai lama, and ofcourse then the chinese coupe Tibet, and the Holy dalai lama was sent into exile. and on we go.. this is a true story actually, even tho some extra stuff is surely added. biggrin.gif - its a great book too btw. pick that up if you run across it.

i belive that the reason that i love this movie so much is because i admire the Dalai Lama so much, i actually payed overprice to go see him when he visited copenhagen to give a seminar/speach at a seminar - THAT i am sure not alot of ppl would have thought about me tongue.gif - but its all true.

oh as a extra feature, the Dalai Lama's sister in RL, plays their mother.. gotta love that!

the only trailer i was able to find was this - TRAILER FOR - SEVEN YEARS IN TIBET biggrin.gif

Last movie I saw was a German film called Run Lola Run. I've seen this movie sooo many times but I still love it to death.

It's about a girl who's boyfriend is in trouble and she needs to get to him in 20 minutes or he'll be dead. She has no means of getting to him becuase someone stole her moped so she has to run. The other catch is that the only way to save her boyfriend is to get there on time and with a large sum of money (I can't remember the exact amount, it's a lot though).

The movie goes over three alternate senarios that could have taken place, each characterized by what happens to Lola as she runs out of her apartment building and then takes off from there.

All in all, I highly recommend this movie. It's in German but it has French and English subtitles.

AZ edit; sorry to butt into your post, its just that i found a trailer for Lona rennt, and i figured it belonged here wine.gif

Love Wilde-isn't it lovely! biggrinlove.gif

Last movie I watched was Office Space.
PG13-R (language mostly)
Comedy

It's about a normal guy who works in a computer/tech office, in a cubicle, and really hates his job. He goes to a hypnotherapist, but the guy dies while he's hypnotized. So now he doesn't care about anything and is totally relaxed all the time. He and his two friends who also work there decide to steal money from the company, but something goes wrong. It's just really funny. I'd totally recommend it!

Gods and Monsters, with Ian McKellen and Brendan Fraser.

It is about the last days in the the life of James Whale, the director of the old Frankenstein movies. Whale has had a stroke recently, and now he has to cope with the effects that had on his mind: old memories, many of them painful, resurface uncalled for, he is unstable and suffers breakdowns and dramatic changings in mood. Moreover, there's the sexy gardener... The two become friends, but it is not clear if the gardener is a blessing or a curse for Whale.
Poignant, but also very funny. One of the first things Whale says to the gardener is that if he wants to swim in the pool, it doesn't matter if he didn't bring swimming trunks with him. biggrin.gif And it continues that way...

^^^^ I want to see that movie so badly.

The last movie I saw was a Korean horror movie called Phone. If you've seen the American Version of Ju-on (The Grudge) or Ringu (The Ring) and enjoyed it then you'll probably like this one. Me, I'm freaked out of ghosts, especially female ghosts with long black hair that possess six year old children. ::shudder:: The little girl in this movie is creepily convincing and my cell phone now freaks me out. help2.gif

Last movie I saw was on tv. 'Monster', with Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. I know now why she got the oscar. Charlize is amazing in this movie. I wasn't too sure I would like the lesbian bits, but it was really well done.

I'm guessing everyone knows that the movie is about american serial killer Aileen Wournos, who was executed some years ago. She had been forced to prostitute herself from the age of 13, and was left with this immense contempt for men. Some guy finally crosses the line and tries to rape and kill her, and she kills him. She just sort of snaps, when she realizes how easy it is to get rid of these perverts. In the middle of all this is this young lesbian girl named Selby, who just wants to be loved.

It's quite a gripping movie, scary and touching in places. The soundtrack also helps with the mood, especially during the credits. A true movie-fan never leaves during the credits. That is my firm belief. You really hurt for this woman in the end, I promise you.

Wow, Monster shocked me. I wasn't ready for some of it. But a really well done movie. I'd also recomend Gods and Monsters-it's one of my fav's.

Last Movie:

Forever Young
Staring: Mel Gibson, Jamie Lee Curtis, and our own Elijah Wood
Rating: PG

This is such a wonderful movie. Feel-good, oh yeah. And who can resist little Elijah running around? He was so cute, I always liked him as an actor. Been watching that one since he was knee high to a grasshopper.

Anywhooo...It's about a man who is a test pilot. One day, well, I don't want to give away anything, but his life falls into disaray, he feels he has nothing. So he goes to his friend, who is a scientist working on cryogenics. He volunteers to be frozen for 1 year. Well, something goes wrong and he winds up being stored on a military base for like 50 years. Elijah and his buddy find him by accident and wake him up. Now he has to try to find his friend again b/c he has no idea what's going on.

There's love and romance, comedy, family fun, action & adventure...it's just a great movie. And I love Mel, with that cutie pie little face and blue eyes biggrinlove.gif

The last movie I watched was One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Co-starring Brad Dourif in his young and sexy days. Lookie!. But anyway, this movie always makes me cry at the end. It's so sad, but then suddenly happy. I won't ruin it for those of you who haven't seen it, but isn't it just a wonderful film? One of my favorite movies.
