Title: Anime
Description: Do you watch it?

Celtic_Bard - September 4, 2004 02:45 PM (GMT)
I do, and though I don't watch many different series I am ADDICTED to Inuyasha. For those of you who watch it, it's a tie between Inuyasha and Miroku for my favorite character. (together, they make up my favorite slashy couple!)

Aranna - September 4, 2004 04:45 PM (GMT)
I don't watch anime. It never seems to be on TV in the UK... but anyhow I wouldn't watch it if it were. But still, I think some of the pictures are beautifully drawn.

Half Elf Lost - September 4, 2004 05:11 PM (GMT)
I watch so little TV...(despite having satellite w/ ridiculous amount of channels).
Have never heard of that show.

tfutcher - September 4, 2004 08:24 PM (GMT)
I love it, Me and my friend are both hooked on it

LeiLu - September 5, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
I tend to get totally addicted to different anime shows all the time. First it was Sailor moon, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Pokemon  , Dragonballs, Bubble Gum crisis, Gundam Wing, Chobits, Hack Sign etc etc I get totally obsessed with a particular show then I get bored and move on till something else comes along.

Nénhelin - September 5, 2004 03:05 AM (GMT)
DUH. It's my addiction, I really need to go cold turkey, but hell no... >_< I mostly read/watch yaoi/shounen-ai with bishonen, of course...or at least something really slashy like Angels Sanctuary....with bishonnen...or that one about the J-Rock band, fuck I forgot, but no it's not Gravitation, lol. Though I love that too.

Aeneus - September 5, 2004 04:35 PM (GMT)
The only anime I've ever watched was Gundam Wing. I'm not sure what's on TV here, but I think I might have seen Dragonball Z/GT, Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Yo, but I never really liked that stuff.

Beckyboo - September 5, 2004 05:00 PM (GMT)
I don't watch it but that's because it's never on tv over here. I don't have Sky anymore, I watched it when I did.

Eremir - September 5, 2004 06:51 PM (GMT)
My favourites ever since I was a kid have been 'Starzinger' and 'Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs'. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I also liked Sailor Moon and Pokémon for a while.

tigerlily_grubb - September 5, 2004 07:28 PM (GMT)
I don't really have anything against Anime, and I can watch it, but don't make a habit of it.

Erestor Junkie - September 5, 2004 07:42 PM (GMT)
I havn't seen much, but I do liek what I have seen :)

Aranna - September 6, 2004 08:25 AM (GMT)
I've always wanted to know this - what's the difference between anime and manga?

misswilde - September 13, 2004 02:15 PM (GMT)
The only anime I've ever seen is that film 'Perfect Blue'. Not really keen to be honest.

Tant - September 13, 2004 02:35 PM (GMT)
I love anime. I started an anime club at my college. I watch Those Who Hunt Elves (the first season), Outlaw Star, Cardcaptor Sakura, X/1999, Tenchi Muyo!, .hack//SIGN, Gundam Wing, Boogiepop Phantom, Wolf's Rain, Speed Racer, Inuyasha, Witch Hunter Robin, and a few others.

Anime is television shows and manga is comic books. Many animes are based off mangas.

BlueGold - September 15, 2004 03:52 AM (GMT)
I love Anime! It started way back when with Sailor Moon and DBZ and now I'm hooked on so many shows like Inuyasha, YuYu Hakisho, Wolf's Reign, Witch Hunter Robin, dothack, Reign the Conquer, YuGiOH and a long time ago Pokemon....heh heh

serafina - September 28, 2004 06:55 PM (GMT)
I'm only familiar with 'the films Spirited Away' and 'Princess Mononoke' (those were beautiful!)

And Pokemon and Digimon  bleh. Used to watch them, don't now :/

I watch Yugi-oh when it is on....think I'm developing an addiction:( it has some very pretty guys in it :smitten: ahhh if only they didn't all have such stupid, stupid voices
I have this 'Flower Angel' video I had since I was 5 that I think is anime? Anyway it's good ^_^

We don't get much anime in the uk, I've never seen the much-mentioned 'Sailor Moon', I don't think it's ever been on here, and it's annoying because it sounds like something I'd like lol!

xue fang - September 28, 2004 07:21 PM (GMT)
I loooooooove anime and I've spent entirely too much money on it over the years. I generally try to go for stuff that hasn't been released in the US since there's less hype surrounding it and therefore there isn't shameless merchandising or anything like that.

It makes me sad though that all of the anime I liked before they came to the US have been licensed and have had stupid card games made out of them, Yuu Yuu Hakusho especially. I hate dubs.

Is it sad that I learned Japanese so I could get raw tapes and not have to pay as much for subtitles? ^_^

Glorfindel - June 2, 2005 07:25 AM (GMT)
Im digging up this old poll.

yes i watch anime and read manga.

i totally agree with celtic INUYASHA ROX!

Starr_Dust - June 2, 2005 07:20 PM (GMT)
Yes! Love anime. All time favorite anime is the Dragonball series. There are too many others to name really. :P

Tanja - June 3, 2005 06:24 PM (GMT)
I love anime, too! Some slashy guys there are for example in Yu-Gi-Oh ;D Inuyasha and Wolf's Rain. ^^ I also read mangas, have a complete set of "Ayashi no ceres"

rine turelie - June 6, 2005 10:22 PM (GMT)
Anime fangirl here!

I love anime and the slashiness. My personal favorites right now are Gravitation, Gensomaden Saiyuki (who couldn't love a story about four guys traveling to India? Think about the slash potential!), Sailor Moon (*blush*), Fushigi Yugi, Dragon Knights, Cardcaptor Sakura, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop...and many others.

PinkPanther - June 7, 2005 02:16 AM (GMT)
I really like anime, but it's not my most favorite thing in the world. I generally prefer the movies to the series anyway. The best movies, in my opinion, are Princess Mononoke and Spirited Away, and my favorite series so far is Gravitation (for obvious reasons :P ). I really want to see Fushigi Yugi because I loved the manga, and from what I've seen of Saiyuki, it looked like something I'd enjoy.

...so yes, I watch anime. :soapbox:

Glorfindel - June 7, 2005 05:52 AM (GMT)
I love yugioh too, the slash is plainly there! mmm a nice ryou/bakura

Feancelenae - June 7, 2005 04:22 PM (GMT)
I watch YuYu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Fullmetal Alchemist, some Gundam Wing, Samurai X, Trigun, and Cowboy Bebop. I love them all, but my fav is FMA, with Roy/Ed, or Greed/Envy. The homunculi are cool.

Tanja - June 7, 2005 08:29 PM (GMT)
LOTR in anime-style xD

loool

MaReZiA TelMiNar - June 13, 2005 10:24 PM (GMT)
Yes... why not?? i mean... i am Naruto, Shaman King, Hunter x Hunter, Evagelion and Rurouni Kenshin's Fangirl ^^

i also read comics...>.<

AmourDuTigre - May 20, 2007 12:16 AM (GMT)
Oh yes...

I love both anime and manga...

Favs are Inuyasha, FMA, Chobits (uber cute), Eureka Seven (not my fave, but good), Shadow skills, Fruits basket (one of my all time faves...I identify with Kyo, tho he is hopelessly straight), X1999, and then, My all time favorite manga in the world....Tokyo Babylon. (The TB anime was a disgusting disappointment).

I am curently working on writing my own manga-esque novella series, and would love to get with a manga artist to bring it to life.

Today I´m not into anime anymore. I was sort of addicted when I was a kid, mostly to "Sailormoon" and after that was over, it was "Pokemon". I don´t know why, but then it just stopped and I sold all of my things, like those wonderful Art Books of Sailormoons creator (Naoko Takeuchi; wow, I do remember her name! :P). A friend of mine owns about a zillion of manga books and she regularly buys new ones. I can´t do anything with it and I don´t know many of today´s anime shows. What I don´t like is Yu-Gi-Oh. That friend of mine once gave me a dvd dalled "Ranma" and I enjoyed the story.
But I guess that my time of anime is over and that I´ll never get that exited about it as I was when I was little.

rine turelie - May 21, 2007 03:01 AM (GMT)
I'm not into anime as much as I was two years ago (wow) when I first posted in this thread. The reason? I'm poor. Anime and manga costs money!

I sometimes illegally watch series on youtube or various other sites, but I just can't find something to really catch my interest anymore.

I'm mostly into early 90's and late 80's American cartoons. I find those at the flea market on VHS for dirt cheap.

AmourDuTigre - May 21, 2007 03:13 AM (GMT)
Of all the manga that I like, (And after some thought), though Subaru is my very favorite character because I love his personality, vulnerablity, uber good looks, sad eyes, etc, I must say that I do Identify more with Ed Elric. There is something about his determination in the face of horrible odds that I identify with. He has been through the mill, but he never gives up and roll over dead. He is cute, but not in the Subaru way...Subaru is a genuine bish, where Ed is stuck between little boy cute and adolescent cute because of his horrible injuries that he suffered at the gate when he and Alphons tried to resurect their mother. He is also short, which is somethng that I can really identify with.

If I was to become a manga character, , I could never pull off being a Subaru, (He is simply too beautiful), but I think with Ed's snarky attitude and determination, I could possibly manage that. My favorite scene in the whole series is where he tells Rose' to "get up and walk...you have two strong legs...use them." This is especially touching since Rose' had given up at the death of her boyfriend, but Ed, despite losing his mother and basically his brother, and his leg (as well as an arm), got up and was moving forward.

Just my further thoughts...

Anime does nothing for me.
I just dont understand whats going on alot of the time xD

Vilwarin - May 21, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
I used to watch anime when I was a child, my favourite being Rose of Versailles. I even have two manga books. They are called berushia no bara (or something like that) in the original.
But nowadays all that they send here is crap!!!!!

Cesare - May 22, 2007 09:24 PM (GMT)
I'm not a devoted anime fan - but if I get a chance to watch an anime that seems promising, I will gladly watch it. Some of my all time faves are anime films (Tonari No Totoro comes to mind...;-))...
So, yes, I do watch anime.

But it's not an obsession or something...:-) Except for Totoro, of course...:-)

vampmax - November 28, 2007 07:05 PM (GMT)
I love anime...Im so hooked...Can not get enough.

Inuyasha is awsome though my new fave is Bleach.

Opal - November 28, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
To say I dont like Manga would be a lie because my favorite comicbook artist during the 90's - Jim Lee combined Manga with classic American comic styles and other artists I enjoyed during that era did that as well. But I am very choosey about straight out Manga.

As far as TV shows I couldnt get into the style of 'Dragon Ball Z'. I personally found it bleh. JMHO.

Now 'Ghost In The Shell' was good.

*dodges tomatoes*

AmourDuTigre - November 29, 2007 01:21 AM (GMT)
To me, I find Bleach to be somewhat boring. Inuyasha is one of my favs as far as anime is concerned, though I love Chobits as well. My favorite Manga of all time is Tokyo Babylon. Then my current fave, Furuba (Fruits basket); then in no order, FMA (little ed is sooooooo cute...) :P ; Eureka Seven; Naruto (hate the anime); Clamp school detectives; etc.

Then of course there is what I am writing...Nekojin...

But then, I won't talk about that now...

Oh, now you're talking - my fella's favourite at the moment is Bleach and he's on series two - he loves it to bits!

I am a big fan of Trinity Blood at the moment - Abel Nightroad is a dish!

vampmax - November 30, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
Trinity Blood is way cool.

I have to watch it on youtube and have only gotten to episode 150.

Merevindur - December 1, 2007 01:21 PM (GMT)
