I hope this will help:

-Select New Poll (button above in the Poll forum, on the right of the screen next to New Topic).

-Type your Topic Title (this it what appears in the Polls forum), Topic Description (this is what appears in small typeface below your Topic Title) and Poll Question (this is what appears directly above your poll).

-Select Single-choice(1) from the drop down menu. This way people can pick only one option from your poll. Please do not (I repeat, do not) pick multi-choice, unless you are sure you want voters to be able to vote for several options at the same time.

-Fill in your Poll Choices (each option on its own line!) It may be wise to include an option 'other' to make sure everyone can vote.

(if you tick the box Only make poll, people will only be allowed to vote in your poll, but not to leave messages (but you can still leave a message yourself))

-Enter a post/message if you want.
