Sculpted Heart.
Merry/Pippin.
By Merv.
For Denise.
Laying there seemed the best option, thought Merry, dazed and confused as he woke in the dim light of day. Though to be precise it was afternoon and he had slept in for some strange Hobbity reason not known so readily to the world of men.
Pippin lay next to him, his snoring still audible until all at once he nudged him to waken him too.
"It's afternoon, Pip. We must be getting that piece done. We promised it, remember?"
Merry thought of the first time he was asked by Aragorn to make a wooden statue of him for the merry-makers in Rivendell. He had only just been crowned king there and the people had requested an idol be made of his image in something organic, rather than man-made and Aragorn could only think of one thing that would look right for any Elf.
Pippin rubbed his eyes, trying to focus on the form next to him, still not truly awake yet.
"Merry? Don't tell me I slept in."
Pippin got up, his eyes raw with the drinking contest they had had last night, his throat bore the same rawness and dry feeling associated with hard drinking. He swivveled out of the bed and stood, going to the bathroom to wash, Merry soon joining him, slapping his naked buttocks with his white, fluffy towel.
"We have to complete the statue we promised."
Merry commented, making it clear to his lover that no more time could be spared on the project.
"Ow!" He shrieked, feeling the wetness of the towel over his exposed flesh. "That bloody hurt!"
Pippin washed his face, dragging the towel back off him, and dabbing it over his cheeks, then placing it on the seat, while he went to the front door, opening it a crack, and with Merry in tow, going to the small outhouse where their masterpiece was stood waiting to be completed.
"Do you think they had any idea we'd make this look good when we announced we'd do it?"
Merry laughed at Pip's suggestion. Since they had left Frodo to the affairs of Elves and their healing powers, Sam had taught them to create new and interesting things, sculpture and crafts were just two of the things he instructed the Hobbits in recently. It was just that these particular Hobbits were fast learners it seemed.
Pippin pressed a kiss to his lover's lips before he started carving the rest of the piece. Aragorn looked every bit as regal in the stance he had and the attire he wore just accentuated how he looked there and then as he was at the coronation.
Merry took the other side of the sculpture and started to hack out at the wood carefully easing his way through the curvature of the fabric he was creating.
Pippin eyed up Merry as he caught sight of his naked upper body, aware of his beauty and musclulature and how it shone in sweat from his lightly tanned skin.
He desired to touch him and feel his skin on his, but they were working now and it was hard for him to keep the raging lust at bay when they did work.
Little did he know that inside him burned a fire even the mere sight of his lover would not put out.
They spent hours carving out the many fabric layers and inches of curves on his crown of office when Merry stopped and moved away to just glance at it.
"It's done at my end, Pip." He piped up, grinning from delight. "What about you?"
"Me? Oh finished too....what do you think?" Pippin lowered his tools and stood back himself to gaze at the statue before them.
Merry paced around, glancing at the workmanship Pippin had obviously been chipping away at for the duration of that time, smiling at his lover he curved an arm around his weary shoulder.
"I think it's time for tea and mushrooms." Merry mentioned while Pippin's eyes bulged.
"Mushrooms?" Pippin did not know a new crop had sprung from the ground where they had picked the last lot during the time of the Fellowship. "That'd be great." He replied, letting him hug him some more. "Let's go pick some now!"
Eagerness was part of the everyday Hobbit, and these two were no exception.
Taking their tools to the wooden table, they pushed them in the drawer, coming out of the place, locking it up and journeying on into the distance. Merry took out a large handkerchief from his pocket and spread it on the ground when they had got to their destination, aghast at how many had grown in the same place they hid from underneath in the ditch.
"There's so many, Merry!" He shouted. we'll better save some for Legolas when he gets here." Pip remembered when the Elves had announced they wanted a statue of the king. Legolas was put out as they had not wanted one of him to adorn their palace.
"Legolas.....he didn't feel good that time we saw him last." Pippin reminded him. He threw a whole duck at Thranduil that day in sheer anger....well, I think it was anger!"
"I suppose we could sculpt his image as a surprise." Pippin spoke, a mushroom in his mouth.
"That wouldn't be a bad idea...maybe then we could get him in our bed!"
Pippin wailed with laughter as Merry patted him on the back. "Maybe he would be a better sitter too - Aragorn was a right grumpy bugger!"
Late into the night they stayed there until such time as they had ate their fill, laying down looking up at the stars, where a moon lay overhead and Pippin stroked his way up his lover's thigh and into his pants.
It was going to be an excellent night for them both.
The End.
Awwwwwwwwww cute :sweet: That was so sweet Merv! Loved it.

That was a lovely little fic, Merv. I really enjoy your Merry/Pippin, dear. The hobbits sculpting was neat. :D Keep up the hobbit fic! :biglove: :rose:
:w00t: That's such an awsome Idea! I think that I'm very narrow minded when it comes to ideas for fics, and that one blew all of mine out of the water! 1000/10!
Thanks for the feedback - it is much appreciated. I never thought there were that many Hobbit fans on here, but it is nice to know. I will be writing more of these type of shorter fics as I know I can complete them. I was never really a long fic person...oh, maybe for one person I know. :P :D
