Title: And not to yield
Description: AU . Faramir / Eomer

This is the story that's taken over my life for the last four weeks. I would like to say "Enjoy ... " but it's not that sort of story. When I say that's it's as black as it can get and has a nasty twist at the end, I mean it. Please take the warnings seriously.

I absolutely loved this fic, more so when I read it the second time!

It's been a long time since I read such an enthralling story and several times it stirred something in me. Although terribly sad there was one part which I found quite amusing.. "while in the next room, Eomer stood close to the wall and sang obscene Rohirric drinking songs at the top of his lungs,"

Oh and the ending, what an ending!

You are an excellent writer and the way you potrayed Faramir's indomitable spirit was the essence for me. Plus the attention to detail throughout.

It shows you don't have to be a huge fan of a particular pairing to thoroughly enjoy a fic if it's so well written!

I usually don't read Char!Death fic cos they make me go all blobby/goey/mussy, but this one came recommended (HEL ) so I took the plunch.

I found it very moving. I love how you build up the story.
I also love the character of the nice guard. Somehow it made me feel that there was still a bit of hope left after all the darkness.

As I said before, I loved it. Don't know if I dare read it again, because I'll totally soak the front of my shirt. Again.

Thank you, all, for your kind words. I'm just pleased that I managed to get the pictures in my head down on paper for once.

Am staggered how almost everybody has liked the Haradrim commander - I nearly made him into a real vicious swine, but I'm glad I didn't now. And Aylith, gld you liked Eomer doing his best to drive the enemy round the bend by singing Very Rude Songs. There had to be some glimmer of light in the story somewhere.

Wow. Just wow.
I love this, as dark as it is, it says so many things that almost can't be whispered anymore; they have to be shouted. And you've written it beautifully.

Chris, thanks for your kind comments. The idea that there are some things so important that a man or woman will give up everything, even life itself, is very important to me.
