Title: Recommend a fanfic author!
Description: Spread the love :)

misswilde - June 8, 2005 06:33 PM (GMT)
This is a brand spanking new thread that a few of us thought might come in handy. Know of a slash fanfic author that you're just dying to share with the rest of us? Hooked on a story arc/series? Want to pimp a writer you love, but feel like nobody has heard of? Tell us!

The idea is to recommend an author to us, and provide a link to some of the stories. For example, I am a HUGE fan of Minuial Nuwing, whose amazing 'Princes Three' story arc can be found HERE. She writes Elf slash, and her Elladan/Elrohir/Legolas threesomes are bloody hot! :P

This fandom is so unfathomably huge that I just KNOW there are authors out there we might have missed. So if you have anyone you'd like to recommend to us, this is the place for it!

One note: Please, please provide a link with your rec. If in doubt, Google it for us! :biglove:

Thanks guys! :plotbunny:

Tanja - June 8, 2005 06:39 PM (GMT)
I want to recommend Khylaren, she is a wonderful writer and her work can be read here Especially her 'Sweet Revenge Series' are particularly good!

Feancelenae - June 8, 2005 06:40 PM (GMT)
Read as much as possible by Emma Keigh, sha'e great!!!

fawsley - June 8, 2005 06:58 PM (GMT)
Ashlyn K Toliver here
She writes the most beautiful RPS Sean/Viggo BDSM.

Wonderful stuff. Give it a go even if you've never read RPS, don't like the thought of whips and chains and think you're going to hate it.

Read 'Breathe' especially.

And she said nice things about my fics on Mirrormere so I have to promote her in return!!

Aeneus - June 9, 2005 07:18 PM (GMT)
Absolute must read: Tricia Owens.

You can find her LotR fanfic and RPS on her site: Lure Of The Ring

Her fanfic is mosty Aragorn/Legolas (occasionally someone else might get his hands on Leggy :P ), varying from fluff to BDSM/Non-Con.
Her RPS includes Orli/Viggo, Orli/Sean B and Orli/Andre Sneider (and a couple of other Orli pairings).

She also write original slash on: Juxtapose Fantasy

I would like to recommend to anyone one of the nicest stories i have read in a long time.

Lithoniel's story Forever in my Arms, which concerns a group of Elves, Elladan/Elrohir/Legolas/Elrond/Thranduil.

Shes a really good writer! :) ;) :)

Aeneus - June 11, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
If you're not squicked by Hobbit/Man pairings, I can recommend Claudia.

Her fiction is on Stange as news from Bree

Pairings include Aragorn/Frodo, Boromir/Frodo, Faramir/Frodo and others.
And if you're really not squicked: some of it is Mpreg!
Several of her stories have been up for Golden Mushrooms.

Oh, I love Tricia's stories. They were some of the first BDSM fics I read, and they're just amazing. :whip:

fawsley - June 13, 2005 11:36 AM (GMT)
Rocketbalm has a couple of good series going at the moment here

More Viggo/Sean RPS I'm afraid, but hey that's what rocks my boat.

Not a boat with a dwarf and an elf in it, mind you...

Merevindur - July 1, 2005 11:17 AM (GMT)
Thankyou for the recommendation, fawsley.

I found them nice interesting and intriguing stories.

:carrot: :makeout: :smooch: :biglove: :aragorn: & :boromir:

venusinchains - July 1, 2005 05:57 PM (GMT)
I'm guessing most of you have already read her stuff (I know some of you have), but in case you've missed it: Theresa Green's fan fiction is excellent. She's a comedic writer who knows the books well, but her characters have a very modern bent.

And, yes, she writes mostly Legolas/Gimli, but she uses Aragorn in her L/G stories quite a bit. (For those with a Dwarf squick, fear not; her stories are more humorous and suggestive than graphically sexual.) :viking:

Starr_Dust - July 1, 2005 06:16 PM (GMT)
I'd like to recommend an author called ak-stinger. She writes mostly Aragorn/Legolas stories and a few of them do contain mpreg.

Click here to read some of her work.

Just a quick post to say that I can really recommend Theresa Green's stuff. Almost the best-written fan fiction that I know of.

i have read alot of good shit out there, but one author i love and who have continued to be brilliant is McKenna Espenshade i would like to reccomend that you read 'mending a heart' wich is now finished, and 'mending a heart ~ The tie that binds' that is still in progress.

i link to these stories at AFF, they are allso to be found at LOM. but at AFF she updates quicker.

McKenna Espenshade's AFF profile & fics

oh oh forgot to mention, this is a legolas/elladan arch.. it got its het moments too.. and its very own mary-sue.. all done with expert humor of McKenna, she is actually very funny if you ask me. - but she is basically an elf girl :biglove:

songfire - August 20, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
I'd like to recommend Capella - you can find her writings at

Capella's fiction

talullah - August 20, 2005 03:32 PM (GMT)
Cappela is a great writer - that was an excellent rec.

Now one of my own, for the elf lovers: Maybe.

Hope you enjoy - she's a greater writer.

Thanks for the rec - I'm still reading! :D

I've got some more: Pecos (Brilliant RPS, including the whole cast)

Chimera Fiction

and for anyone interested in quality Silmfic: Zimraphel

here

and imho one of the best authors in LoTR fiction (not slash, but definitely worth reading!) Thundera Tiger can be found here

at www.henneth-annun.net

Enjoy!

Ladyofthemarshes - August 30, 2005 12:34 PM (GMT)
You will either love this story or hate it - I really loved it. It's seriously weird in places but rewards patience. It's "A fleeting touch of shadow" by Le Rouret, and can be found at http://www.slashfanfiction.com/viewstory.php?sid=15540

Would be interested to hear what you all think of it - should warn you that it is very long, but it is finished.

MissMarshy, still sniffling into a hankie, having just finished the last chapter

fawsley - September 8, 2005 06:44 PM (GMT)
Our very own Brigantine has some wonderful stuff up on Mirrormere Brig's stuff

Especially glorious if you're into hot Gondorians.

And if you're not, you should be.

Brigantine - September 11, 2005 06:51 AM (GMT)
 Thanks, faws!

And in other news... http://www.broadwriting.com/index2.html will get you to Brenda's website. If you go into LOTR RPS and sort by story alphabet and scroll down to these I can pretty much guarantee smut, romance, and a few good giggles, as well:

Candy Perfume Boys and then its sequel Twee Slut.

Welcome to the Playground (series).

Brenda's got a lot of stories to choose from, but those are my personal favorites. :biglove: :strawberry:

Chris13 - September 24, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
Consternatio has some very interesting stuff. She does a lot of PWPs, though, so people who are not into the mindless or little plot stuff might not enjoy it. She's under the name on Mirrormere and has an LJ for her stories under ConsternatioFic.

Ladyofthemarshes - September 25, 2005 11:17 AM (GMT)
I posted to the "Looking for a fic" thread that I'd found a fic for which I'd been looking for ages - it was "Adequate" by Kielle. I was familiar with a very good humorous story of hers - "Blood and warm blankets" - which I love and can recommend as a great cheerer-upper after too much angst, but there is a lot of good stuff on her website http://www.subreality.com/ring12/main.htm .

Apart from "Adequate" and "Blood and warm blankets" (a wonderful skit on the cave-in-a-storm sub-genre, starring Faramir and Eomer), I can also particularly recommend --

"Ranger's legacy", (Aragorn talking to Halbarad's son about the death of his father)
"Refraction" (the real reason why Finduilas died),

and among the drabbles,
"Bloodkin" (young Aragorn and Halbarad)
"Haunted" (Boromir/Faramir, from Eowyn's point of view)
"Consolation" (Eomer/Legolas, at Aragorn's wedding)
"Too early seen unknown" (Aragorn/Boromir, from Faramir's POV)

Hope some of you at least enjoy these.

well, how could i not? in the spirit of the weird pairings and my general disposition to mix hunky men/elves with...less than goody-two-shoes people, i give you a piece that i read long ago and always found entertaining and re-reading from a lovely person called Draylon- she gave me these links and told me many moons ago a third part of the story is in the works, but im not sure if that still stands!

its wonderful. it is though. angsty-turmoil faramir and confused troubled orc. mmmm. i guess it played a nice little inspirational part in the Colours I Cry fic i did.

(Faramir/Shagrat) :P

Captain of Mordor

and the sequel:

nazgul's prey

:viking: :viking: :help:

I've just finished reading ''Fait Accompli'' by Ignoble Bard who's on this forum, thats how I found his link to AdultFanFiction.Net.
''Fait Accompli'' is one of the best stories I've read in a loooong time and just had to mention it in here. He's an amazing writer!! :smitten:

I totally recommend this story for major angst lovers!
There are 11 short chapters if anyones interested.

Eremir - March 4, 2006 01:07 AM (GMT)
Well, this one is for the Harry Potter fans. :)

My favourite HP writer is Cruisedirector and her slash forum is at livejournal, called
The Love Boat. She's fantastic at crackfic, and does a mean Lucius/Draco. Very kinky, funny, brilliant woman.

I recommend the Enormous Penis series.

Extremely hot. Rubber seat covers are recommended.

pearlconcubine - May 23, 2006 03:46 AM (GMT)
I know I'm still pretty new here but I read this thread and knew I had to recommend one of my faviourite authours.

She's the Magic Rat and this is her website:

Ex Libris

Her "Rabbit" series is excellent and has become a huge universe. Originally it centered around Haldir and an original character called Rabbit but it has expanded to encompass a huge group of pairings including original and canon characters. She also has an original series of fiction which is also very good. Her writing has just the right mix of humour and angst and if I had one complaint it is that the universe has become so big it is a little hard to keep up with all the characters.

Give her a go, you won't reget it.

fawsley - June 21, 2006 07:53 AM (GMT)
If anyone hasn't yet read brigantine's incredible new three-decker 'The left-hand hound' they damn well ought to. It's on the LoM LJ and it is one of the most amazing pieces of writing I've had the pleasure to read for a very long time. And there was me thinking she'd never top the NCs... Fool that I was!

 to her greatness

lovelegollas - November 14, 2008 01:50 PM (GMT)
:D

I'd like to recommend the really wonderful author out on the archive of LoM , JDE.. She is a wonderful writer and has this bizarre way of making you fall in love with all her characters.

The Song Of Sunset is amazing... And overflowed with reviews...
But I like her short fics too, she does angst very well...and with a lot of PASSION

:smooch:

this is the link!

I like angsty fics. One that sprung to mind as I stumbled upon this thread was Absence by Landel. Not very slashy, but still.

Will edit this post later, have to browse my Computer History.

I know. Some stories can be angsty without being slashy! But JDE is great. No noncon or mpreg or orcs to make the angst. Marked the story you gave :D Will read it. Thanks!
jdav You can find her stuff here. Some of the new ones are really, really wonderful. het, slash and lots of angst.
