Circumstances prevent us from leaving Frankfort all week. Thanks, Heather for stepping up and taking this mission. Hope this doesn't put you at the top of Greg's "hot list" for RCs.

I remember standing in front of this same funeral home 2 years ago for another hero (with your family) - it was my first. My apologies to you and the family for not being able to make it.

I am posting this Mission Report for Heather(She didn't realize that Navy Gunner runs a tight ship and keeps the forums current!!)

We started this mission at the Bowling Green airport on Tuesday. We had several members show up to escort this soldier home. His plain came in shortly before noon. We lined up with our flags held high, Adams family standing close by, waiting for them to unload the flag draped coffin. There was not a dry eye as the honor guard carried the coffin to the hearse. My heart broke for Adam and his family. As we escorted him to the funeral home we drove down Scotsville Rd. traffic was at a stand still. People stood on the side of the busy road to pay there respect. We left the family at the funeral home with the promise that we would be back on Wed.
We had about 10 come for the visitation on Wed. night. We stood there until dark. We talked to family and friends about Adam. About how much he loved being a soldier. He loved life, his family, and his friends. He was on his 3rd tour in Iraq. He and Becky had only been married a few months when he left. He was planing on taking her on a honeymoon when he came home on leave in July.
Thursday morning when I arrived at the Harley dealership there were already several bikes and cars there. We all talked among ourselves, catching up with people we had not seen in a while, telling jokes until it was time to get down to business. We had a brief discussion about what needed to be done to honor Adam and his family as best we could. We left the staging area and headed to J C Kirby. Along the way many cars pulled over to let us pass, but the the one that got me was a trucker that stopped in the middle of the road, that was under heavy construction, opened his door and stood at attention until we all got passed, there was traffic lined up behind him a mile long. I thought that was the coolest thing. When we got the the funeral home. We had more join us. All together we had 25-30 bikes and 8-10 cages. 45+ came to show support to this man that had laid down his life for us. We had people from as far North as Indiana and as far South as Alabama to come stand with us.
I would like to thank everyone that could come down this week. I know Adam would have loved it. When he came down this past summer he saw pictures from Chris's and he was so excited about it. He thought it was so cool that people would take the time to do that for someone.
So to everyone that helped make this mission a success, Thank You. And a big thanks to Adams family for letting us come and honor him. He is a True American Hero and we will never forget him or what he has done for us.
Heather

Thanks again for all the good work with Adam's mission.
