Weyr Bowl
Fashioned more like an oblong canyon, the Weyr bowl is shaped more long than wide. Down the very middle of the rocky bowl is a river fed off of a waterfall, shooting down cool, fresh water from the mountains. The waterfall turns into a small lake, which trickles down into a river that shoots straight down the middle of the Weyr bowl to stream down the cliff face that calls an end to the bowl. For safety reasons, a stone wall has been constructed at the area where there is cliff, and iron grating in the waters so that careless swimmers wouldn't get swept away and to their death. Bridges are strategically placed, though the river portions of the body of water never get wider than a dragonlength.

Lower Caverns
This contains anything that goes on in the main lower caverns of the Weyr, including mealtimes in the mess hall and things that go on in the kitchen.

Hatching Sands
Warmed by the waters heated by thermal activity, this is what makes the Weyr. Without the warmed sands of the hatching grounds, no dragons would survive in the northern continent. Only the Southern continent is naturally warm enough to keep eggs warm enough to hatch.

The sands are covered in pristine white, southern sand, transported there just for that purpose. There is a single opening for Weyrlings and visitors to come through directly onto the sands. The stands that hold visitors though, would be 20 feet up, the drop down being quite vertical. The stands have wooden benches to sit upon, with steps etched into the stone. The high cieling of the great cavern has mighty ledges for the seating of dragons. There is a single, rough stairway that leads from the stands to the sands, and this is always guarded during hatchings.

The Queen's Study
This is a room connecting the the very weyr of the Weyrleaders. This is where important conversations are held about tithes, threadfall and other things of the sort. Only those invited by the Weyrleaders may attend.

Candidate's Barracks
This area has been finished only for a few weeks, but the entire area was washed thoroughly so as not to have too much stone dust that would settle on everyone's belongings. There are two wings to the barracks, the male and females. They do not connect except for just a length or so away from the exit out into the bowl, and there are seperate bathing rooms as well. The smell of cleaning solutions and the hint of mined stone still lingers in these barracks, but one learns to get used to it after a while.

The Weyr's Veins...
This encomasses any part of the Weyr that isn't the lower caverns, which includes the bathing areas, Weyrs, and meeting rooms of the dragonriders. If anything should be within stone walls and doesn't make sense to be in the lower caverns, stick it in here.

Weyrling Barracks
Close to the lake and the feeding grounds, but away from the actual dragon Weyrs, it's the perfect place to be near everything needed, yet not be too terribly influenced by the older dragons. A cavern large enough for dragons to pass through leads into a cave that forks from left to right, one for boys, the other for girls. Each prong of the barracks is a huge room, each private cubicle complete with a stone couch for the dragons, but their capacity is only large enough for a dragon at half its size. There were easily 25 of these stone beds, along with a cot and a small cubby beneath it. There were only two walls along the side and one behind it, leaving the front entry open. Privacy was obviously not an option. Upon just hatching, dragonets are dwarfed by their huge beds, but it is always a garuantee that they will be literally overflowing it the few sevendays before they are skilled enough a flyer to move out at 7 months of age.

The Heights
Amongst the twisted spires of the Weyr's walls, the stone and spire has been sanded and blasted away to make room for a great alcove where firestone is held, and a platform large enough for a full Flight of dragons to assemble to prepare for threadfall.

Hurricane Hold
Hurricane Hold, named after the horrible weather it must endure during certain times of the year, is located right on the tip of the Tillek Peninsula. This way, the large seahold can send ships either northward or southern bound; able to take advantage of the cool-water fishing while at the same time able to send them southward for different catches entirely. Though small, and new, the Hold seems to be at a very nice start.

Izvand Hold
Izvand is a wonderful place to be, located in lower altitudes where the weather is less bitter, and maybe even pleasant. This is where all things green grow, and they grow a large concentration of foods and other beneficial plants. It supplies all the Holds and Weyrs nearby with their goods, and their growth of flax and cotton makes their stone walls welcome to many of the weavercraft hall that are looking for a quiet life away from big cities where they can raise families yet still make a living. They reside in the lower areas of the mountains, near the great expanse of grassland niched between a wall of mountains. These plains would be the heart and soul of another nearby Hold.

Thyra Hold
Thyra was once very well known for their fine woods, which they raised themselves in large amounts. This was the main provider for the boatmakers in Hurricane hold, but lately, shipping, and even tithing to the Weyr has slowed. The Hold has become corrupt by outside sources, and is slowly becoming more and more of a pain for everyone. Outsiders are unwelcome, and dragonriders are barely tolerated.

Tregad Hold
Tregad is just south of Izvand, and are renowned for their expansive grasslands where they raise a huge assortment of animals, even dabbling in the raising of chicken and duck, which are a rare commodity in any part of Pern. They are the main suppliers of fodder for Kharasi Weyr, and are enjoying the fact that there are so few dragons to feed while they can. They are also known for their draybeasts(mules) and sturdy runnerbeasts that are perfect for the mountain terrain.

The Shore
This is the Western North shore of the Peninsula. In many places, the cliffs are high from the waters edge, and rocks below make it dangerous to swim. There are some choice areas though, that people love to lounge around, and dragons love the smoothed, black rocks that absorb an optimum amount of heat from the sun. In the seas, it's common to see boats out doing their rounds and catching fish from the sea. The clangs from their bells and the merry cheers can be heard sometimes if they are close enough.
