Welcome to the Hogwarts Journey! Today is 1 September 1996. It is a dreary sort of day with a steady drizzle falling. The temperature is mild, at about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. It will drop to about 64 at night.

Note: This board is currently in the process of construction; hence the lack of information and the missing forums. If you wish to apply anyway, make your way over to the application forum and answer every field. The rules and regulations are posted in their very own forum. If you have an inquiry about the board, e-mail Tricia at all4truth@excite.com

This is a RPG set in Harry's 6th year. The board shall be centered around 6th years, and therefore you may only apply for a sixth year at the present. Thank you. Happy applying!

Welcome the rules of posting and more in The Hogwarts Journey. You must be successful in abiding these rules if you wish to stay in the game. They are not hard to follow, though you may have difficulty at first if you are not accustomed to our way of overseeing things. If you are bewildered, contact an admin. We will always be glad to help.

Interacting with admins and Fellow Role-players

1. Want to be banned very quickly? Cursing out/flaming an administrator is a good way to do so! Or anybody else, for that matter. We do not tolerate players disrespecting one another. If anybody comes to us with proof of being harassed by you, we'll confront you and ask you to cool it. If your behavior continues, we will ban you.

2. Do you know what else is kind of rude, not to mention against the rules? Making an entirely OOC (out of character) post in an IC (in character) forum. If somebody sees a recent time, they'll believe somebody has replied to their post or something. Don't you think they'll be disappointed if they click only to find OOC posts?
Example (Operating under assumption it was posted in an IC forum) Player A to player B: (OOC: Hey, can you please IM me at "Randomish1"? We can talk more about the character situation there)" Player C, who has nothing to do with the OOC post: What the bloody hell? I thought someone had finally replied to my character... *fume*

We supply an OOC forum for a reason. Use that and not the IC ones. If the admins run across an entirely-OOC post in the wrong spot, we can and will delete it. That is a given.

Grammar
1. Grammar is very important. We do not appreciate net slang being used at all.
Example: omg u slut how culd u b so mean 2 me?!?!?!?! plz stop actin like that u hurt my feelinz OMG u r 2 kewl!!!! hehehehehehe!!! lolzers okk I mean really, let's be a bit more lazy, people! If you have a problem with taking the extra milliseconds to write out your words, do not bother registering. This is a RPG, not a teenybopper chat room flooded with bots posting stuff such as "sexy chik 17/f/ny click here 4 pics of me giving head!"

2. Nobody wants to see you acting like a mentally challenged computer illiterate person in this game. Please take the time to take this seriously. <BRExample: Uummmmmmm................. I don't know!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you know?!?!?!?!?!?!? Huuuuuuuuuuhhuuuuuuuuuuuuhuhhhhhhhhu??????????????
Please take the time to write things correctly for everybody's convenience.

How to Post/How not to Post
1. We are very lenient about swearage, as some of the admins could be labeled guttermouths. However, we don't want every other word leaving a character's mouth, or in their thoughts, to be a naughty word. Don't overdo the cursing.
Example of overdoing swearage: "Marigold, you @#$%ing b***h. Why don't you go @#$% a g*****n tree, you mother @#$%er piece of s**t! You can kiss my @$$, you piece of s**t I'll punch you in the c**t!. I do not want people's parent filters firing off due to excess swearage.

2. Try to make your posts at least two paragraphs long. It is really not that difficult, contrary to what seems to be popular belief. Granted, almost all newbies do short posts, but the short-post phase should not last more than, say, a week. We suggest reading the long posts, and see what your more experienced counterpart is putting in them. For example, you can post a character's thoughts, facial expression, your character's opinion of the character they are interacting with, and so on and so forth.

3. Please, check over your spelling and grammar after you finish a post. Most of us get extremely annoyed when there are a lot of typos and grammar mistakes in a post. We're perfectionists, which means we want as few grammar mistakes as possible. Since we can't edit your posts ourselves, we'll just message you if something is grievously wrong with your post. We want them to be done in third person, and past tense, unless your character is speaking to somebody. If your character is thinking something (thoughts make the posts longer, which is a good thing), try to find a way to change it from first person to third person. Message an admin if you find yourself in the need of assistance.

4. Never, but ever post the actions of characters that do not belong to you. Trust me, some admins have a built-in radar that detects controlling words/actions of other characters, and will come after you with their poisoned swords at hand if they spot you blatantly disregarding this rule.

5. This board is rated PG-13. Therefore, no vivid description of scenes that would make Britney Spears or Christina Agulilera or Madonna blush, PLEASE! And if any of these vcrop up... well, let's just say the "delete post" button IS fun to use.
