The sound of water rushing up against rock and wood could have given almost anybody serenity. However, for someone who's reaching the end of her patience, the sound was simply annoying.
Fog escaped her lips as she sighed. The air was getting colder by the minute. The breeze has rendered her cheeks numb by now.
Adjusting her coat, she looked around one last time for that familiar face.
Nope... nothing...
"Oh well, there's no point waiting here anymore. Maybe I should just go on ahead."
She picked up her bag... something shifted inside as she hoisted it to her shoulder.
"Guess I'll have to meet up with her further inland."
