History: The youngest child of a noble family Lailah was ignored, sent away to be raised in schools and by servants, groomed to play wife to some rich man when the time came. The only person from her family that she ever knew was her elder brother, the heir to the Zhi legacy, sent off to the school of Rembrandt to train like the ancestors before them had been. Lailah often imagined what it would be like to be sent off to such a school to learn, desiring to become like the people her brother often wrote to her about. By the time she was ten her brother had already gained a prominent rank and came back home to take his role as head of the family.
There was much celebrating in the Zhi estate. Though her brother did not seem as excited as the others. Going to her brother the night before he was to ascend to his new role she asked him of his strange behavior. With a smile he kissed the child’s forehead, picking her up as he took her back to her bed chiding her for being so silly and asking such questions. As she drifted off to sleep that night the last thing she remembered hearing was her brother’s apology before he left. The next day was when the tragedy was discovered. Lailah ran to her brother’s room to wake him up, eager to start the festivities for the day only to find his room torn apart. Blood covered the floor and walls, everything seemed to be painted with the thick crimson. There was no body, only blood and pieces of flesh and other parts.
To Lailah’s rage the family’s mourning lasted for only a few days before it was decided that she would become the next heir. Pulled away from her school and friends she was sent off to the academy.
