The year was 2090...and the world is disrupted by war and conflict, a product of man's search for power and ambition. Men fought for what is left on the dying world's resources, and for that, a struggle to control the flow of valuable resources erupted. The balance was broken by the global echelon's failure to control peace and order, and even the government had abandoned its post. A new form of government had arisen from the ashes, scavenged from the original one. But instead of politicians, it was by the Mafiosos, Syndicate heads and powe-hungry businessmen-- a pacifier for the world that only made it worse. It was a dire era for all, it was the return of the dark ages.

Far from the shadows of the conflict, four Islands stood strong against the tide of doom, hidden and unknown to the world, it became the only haven untouched by corruption. These Islands were clustered close to each other, each hiding its own secret, each holding its own story. Existing for one another, this small archipelago became a home to men and women whose lives have been made for a purpose. Three of the islands houses its own hidden school, each an institute built for the aim of learning the trades of the new dark world, they were the Egon, the Odd, and the Rembrandt, these group of schools is known to the few as the Gakkou no Kage, or the Shadow's School. Their students are taught not only of academics but of ways to eliminate a man, to hide in shadows, to survive in the harshest environment, and to blend with their enemy like a cloud their existence. They serve only the highest bidder, staying in the shadows, watching, observing, supporting no one's side-- revealing only their presence, not by the evidence of their modus operandi, but by the tracks of blood that they trail behind to advertise that their skills are for sale.
