Title: MLS DP Signings
Description: Who have you gotten so far?
FCD_Greg - November 3, 2009 12:36 AM (GMT)
I'm proud to announce that Tomas Rosicky will be joining my FCD squad on the first day of July, 2010. He'll only be 29 years young when he gets here, so I'm admittedly excited about FCD's 2nd DP signing (yes, Denilson happened. Try as I might, I can't forget that really happened).
Anyone else made a DP signing yet? Who was it?

Marco Di Vaio was vital in the FCD 2010 season.

I saw a few in soak games...
One was Vennegoor of Hesselink....(that was when he was still a free agent), I saw Charlie Davies in one as well, as about a 28 year old.

If I wanted to, I could sign someone like Sibierski (spelling?) the French international. Ditto with van Myde of Holland. Neither one's worth it, though.

Nope.
Sibierski just retired, IIRC....

Still in the game at the start, and willing to sign with TFC if they had an extra DP slot.
So is Denilson. Wonder if he'd go back to FCD?

I don't... (wonder that)

Rosicky joined and scored something like 15 goals in 20 games (all competitions), and lead us to a U.S. Open Cup championship. Unfortunately, we were so awful early in the season that a 10 match unbeaten run lead by Rosicky wasn't enough for a playoff birth :( .
Does anyone know a way to attempt to acquire additional DP slots beside offering players in exchange for one? Because it seems the league doesn't think Heath Pearce alone is worth one ;P

Unfortunately there isn't....
I've been asking for 5 years for a trade engine to look a lot like the one from EHM, for those that played that.
Apparently to accommodate MLS's idocycracies, would unbalance the transfer system for the rest of the world and thus far we've not found a great work around. The offering of a player for a slot is the best we have so far.
The only alternative is to cheat...but you can only do that at start up, by using an edt command.
Here is the formula for the Chivas to NY one, so that you can replicate if need be,.
"MLS_TRADE_SLOTS" "New York Red Bulls" "CD Chivas USA" "0" "31/12/2011"

Not quite a DP, but Ali Karimi has been my big foreign signing, and has worked out amazingly in the center of my midfield. I was worried that he would be a dud but my instincts turned out to be right.

I didn't sign him, but San Jose got Maxi Lopez, which I thought was kind of cool.
