Title: Agent system
Description: Yay or nay?

I dislike the FM 11 agent system intensely. What does everyone else think? Does anyone have any tips on how to get agents to stop being so, shall we say, idiotic? Or is it just that the players I want have no-goodniks for agents? :D

I hate the agents. It was something that was not necessary in the game.

I think agents are a good addition.....but i do have a number of qualms with the interaction with both them and players. Seems a few fairly obvious things are missing. I also found that it was too easy to cut out the agent (spoiler alert.....stop reading now) if you offer the contract the player wants and reduce the agent fee to near nothing, like $2k, it will often get accepted even if they wanted $75k in fees (I've never tested this at a particuarly high level, just Serie B- C2).

If they could add some more options it would make it much better.

I think is a promising start, though far from polished. I think the pseudo-real time negotiations are awesome though. What I hate is that if I start bargaining with a player and find his demands are too high, and I exit talks, he won't open up talks again later, even if I'm now willing to give into his demands. I should be able to say "we are now prepared to offer the salary you wanted earlier" or something to that effect.

After more playing, I think that, in general, the agents were an unnecessary addition (perhaps it's just because the system is not even remotely polished). I always found that the old negotiation system worked fine.

I like the addition. But it hurts to give out more money to agents now. :(

Im not sure IRL if agents really would sulk so much and cut off teams TRYING to negotiate a deal, especially for free agents. I dont like seeing a player get retire who i wanted to sign just ebecause his agent isn't talking to me. That's not very realistic.

Aside from that..........

Completely agree. Walking away from a negotiation shouldn't end the negotiation. It's a powerful tool for both the player and the club. When I walk away from negotiations, a player should possibly come back later and say "I'm willing to take what you offered earlier", or when I am trying to sign a player who is asking for too much, I should be able to go and sign him later if a suitable replacement isn't found.
