Same here, the wait is killing me, and i have nothing important on my laptop that would require a back up lol. If i do get it for my desktop I'll insert a new hard drive along with it, had my C: drive unintentionally reformatted whilst reinstalling vista once and lost about 300 GB of data

Ouch 300GB. I don't have much to back up just helps that with this extra time I should not forget anything

Haven't been on the forums for awhile mostly because of the switch, i am having these huge debates with myself on what to install that i previously installed and what I don't need. I always get reluctant to install a lot on a fresh copy of windows until i reach a certain level of "eh, what the heck" which happens over time. Strangely enough i didn't notice much of a difference, it still has that vista feel asides from the awesome task-bar and faster program load-times, I have a pretty good laptop though which was pretty fast on vista, so i guess i was expecting too much Probably won't be gettign ti for my desktop the whole streaming to your tv feature made me laugh since i already use my Sony Bravia as my comp screen threw HDMI.

I had Vista at work so I was a used to the look and feel a bit, but my home PC still had XP. The old machine was only a 1.7 P4 with 2 GB RAM, so going to the new Quad Core processor with 6 GB RAM has been a lot of fun!

The only main program I have installed now is Microsoft Office 2007. All the rest is either music or data files. It running like a dream. I too love the new taskbar but another huge plus is how they re-organized windows explorer.... alot easier to navigate. btw I'm not usually one for getting books on OS's but I did this time it should get here this week. Apparently it has some tips and tricks to make Windows 7 even better

I picked up the student version of Office 2007, but other than that all I installed was iTunes, uTorrent, Firefox, and some ipod video converting software. All of it is running smooth.
My old PC had trouble streaming video since the video card was so old, but it all runs silky smooth now.

My copy was only $69 with any PC purchase, which was a great deal too. I was able to add it to the netbook without any optical drive (a trial version was on there already, so I just needed to activate it).
