Okay guys! Since we're out of the planning stage now, we can just start it here again. Is that alright? If not, I can just delete this. smile.gif

Anyways, go for it!

QUOTE
If any witch or wizard had entered the Ravenclaw common room during the early hours of morning, they would have discovered two witches sound asleep and a third awake reading, her chestnut hair falling out of a ponytail to settle into disorganized strands on her shoulders. Soon after her dorm companions - though Madison was dubious as to whether or not they were companionable in the least - had taken to their beds, Madison had pushed aside her royal blue drapes and crept stealthily down to the common room. A wealth of books had awaited her there - a bookworm's paradise. Laden with as many volumes as she could hold, the eleven-year-old bibliophile had crept back upstairs and proceeded to read until her eyes fell shut.

Madison dreamed. She dreamed of green ink and castles and candles and trains. Of eagles and snakes and badgers and lions. And as sunlight crept through a skylight into the Ravenclaw common room, Madison dreamed of her mother advancing upon her father with a bloodied knife.

She woke up the entire common room with her screams.

As soon as she gained full conscience, she stifled them; who would want to be forever known as "that screaming girl"? So as the half-dazed, disgrunted Ravenclaws awoke, no one was exactly sure from where the cries had come.

By the time she had washed, dressed in plain black robes with an occasional touch of blue and bronze, and clattered down moving staircases and cold flagstones to the Great Hall, owls were beginning to swoop in with the daily post. Her eyes searched the Ravenclaw table for Terry; no, he must have already eaten and left. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Mandy and Tiffany motioning frantically for her to come sit with them. Rolling her eyes, she pretended not to see and chose a spot alone.

Madison was just helping herself to buttered toast when CRASH! She whipped around, her hair following fluidly to settle again on her shoulders. Maple syrup dripped near the Gryffindor table. Tomoyo!

The softly-spoken Gryffindor looked white and shaken. Madison was halfway out of her seat when a penetrating glare from the staff table stopped her: Professor Snape was staring straight at her, without a doubt, a smile curling his lips. Oh, going to tell me off again, are you, Professor? An angry yell rose to her lips as the prospect of challenge sent excitement through her veins. This should be interesting...

"Madison!" An insistent hand jerked the girl back to her seat. Of course - Terry. "How many times do I have to tell you? Do you want Potions to be miserable for the next seven years of your life? Leave off of it!"

Irritated, she shook off his hand. "You're not my mother! Cut it out, Terry! I-" Swallowing her next sentence, she tried the age-old method of counting to ten, breathing deeply. "All right, all right." Her best course of action here would likely be to leave, before she could offend anyone else. Madison drained her goblet and stood up, heading for the entrance. "I'll see you in class."

Just quoting last post so we can refresh where we are.

OOC: Wait....it's my turn. *Sweadrop* Sorry for making you guys wait!

IC: After an eternity, Tomoyo felt rational thought coming back into her brain. Standing here staring at a letter like an idiot wouldn't solve anything- even if she felt like she could collapse any minute now.

How was she going to talk to Madison and Eowyn? Wait....their classes! She whipped her timetable out of her bag as fast as she could, well, as best she could. Due to her shaky hands, she ended up fumbling with the catch for several minutes, then shuffling pointlessly through her notes before the elusive paper was found.

Charms!

They had charms together first period! Thanking the heavans for blessing her with such luck, she stuffed the sheet back into her bag and ran out of the hall, deaf to the cries of worried gryffindor friends and acquaintences. Black robe and violet hair flying behind her, she burst into the charms classroom with 5 minutes to spare. In the front of the rather spacious room, a curiously short man stood on a precariously stacked pile of books, which would have made her laugh if not in this situation.

Instead, she ignored his surprised squeak and scanned the class for the two girls that were her last hope. Eowyn's flashing, yellow eyes and the glint of Madison's glasses caught her attention immediately. However, they were sitting in the general area that their houses had picked, and that just happened to be across the room from eachother.

Out of all the rows of seats... She thought despairingly, urgency adding irrational fear to her mind. Then, she rushed toward Eowyn's bench, as it was closer than Madison's. However, getting there proved more difficult than planned. As she headed toward the unspoken 'area' of the slytherins, they immediately noticed her, and started leering and hissing insults. One even threw a scrap piece of paper at her.

Tears were starting to burn in here eyes as the current stress level rose. Nothing so serious had happened to her since....but she couldn't think of that now, or she'd definately break down. She was just a row away now.

Eowyn.... The decidedly distressed young gryffindor reached her hand out in an attempt to tap Eowyn's shoulder over the benches of the last row. But it was slapped away by another hand- an unusually pale one. A tough, blond slytherin was sitting there, looking at her as if she was the last thing he'd prefer to see at the moment, which she probably was.

"What are you doing stinking up our air, mudblood?" he spat out snidely, wrinkling his nose. At this comment, more students turned to look, and inevitably, more slytherins started getting up and gathering around her. One spotted the yellow parchment of her "death letter", as she'd come to call it, and snatched it out of her pocket. She laughed as Tomoyo gasped in dismay. The japanese girl quickly turned around and tried to get the letter back, but her short height only allowed her to stretch her hand up to the offending girl's wrist.

She couldn't let anyone else read that letter!

OOC: Jessie started a new topic because the other one was labeled "Platform 3 & 3/4". Meg - if it's a mod priviledge, you could merge this thread and the old one, and rename it. *nods* Or we can start in here. Either way works. smile.gif

And if you read Sam's last post in the platform 9 3/4 forum, she wanted us to get out of the planning forum, or at least change the name. So Ri's suggestion works too! happy.gif

OOC: Oh, yeah. Once the threads are dealt with, I'm going to go into a previous post of mine and edit it. The one where Madison is creeping downstairs (in the first part of the post) to get a book? She'll see some suspicious activity going on somewhere. *nods* And that can be a bit of a lead-in to Jessie's plot.

Surrounded by her friends, Éowyn sat happily at the back of the class, talking joyously about the classes and days in head of them. She couldn’t imagine what would possibly go wrong. They were a tight group, which had formed overnight. She hardly talked to Madison and Tomoyo within the last 12 hours, and she felt that she wouldn’t miss them one bit. They were, after all, in a different house from her. Besides, Slytherin was the rival house of all the other ones. She couldn’t be seen conversing with people from different houses.

The bench that she was sharing with Willow slid back as Willow got up. Éowyn looked back at a group of Slytherins who were all converging on a small, violet-haired girl. One of them held a letter up in the air, and a hand that was barely visible above the heads was desperately reaching for it. Oh god, what is she doing???

It had taken Éowyn forever to recognize the locks that she had seen every second on the train ride to school. It was Tomoyo. The letter must be the one that she had received at breakfast. But why was she trying to get it away from people? Why was it so important that she had to keep it with her since this morning?

Éowyn stood up, scraping the bench loudly on the wood floor. She began to slap peoples outstretched hands away so that she would have a direct path to Tomoyo. Eventually, she had to resort to half-body checking her fellow slytherins out of the way so that they would leave her alone. She wasn’t surprised to see Draco in the middle of the crowd, taunting and teasing the Japanese girl.

Later, Éowyn seriously wondered why she did this. She had gotten up and defended a girl from Gryffindor house. One that she wouldn’t lose sleep over never seeing again. A muggle born, no less.

Malfoy gave her an accusatory look when she calmly asked him to step out of the way. “Why should you have all the fun?” he asked. She just stayed silent and grabbed Tomoyo’s arm.

”Professor Flitwick, I hope that you won’t mind us stepping out for a second. We won’t be long.”

Flitwick’s squeaky voice wasn’t loud enough to carry itself over the noise from the students, so she took it as a yes. On her way out the door, Éowyn caught Madison’s eye and motioned for her to come out, just incase Tomoyo had something to say to them.

Once they had made it out of the charms room and into the corridor beyond, she let go of the girl and turned to face her, eyes glinting in the flickering torch light. “Why were you over there?” she asked, genuinely curious, “You do know that the houses sort of… segregate themselves. You were in the Slytherin area. I hope you knew what you wanted with me, ‘cause I want to know.” The door to the charms room opened and snapped shut again as Madison stepped shyly into the hallway.

OOC: Sorry I kinda directed your characters about a bit, well, Rita at least. unsure.gif

OOC: I suppose we'll just stay in this thread, then. And no problem about the characters, as long as you don't make other characters say things and such. I suppose we do need to nudge each other along, just to keep the plot going.

And Meg, when you go to the bottom of the page, is there a dropdown where it gives you some options for threads? Like close/merge/etc.? Because if we could merge the threads, then we wouldn't have to check between them.

IC: The first class on Monday mornings turned out to be Charms - Charms with both the Slytherins and the Gryffindors. It took Madison a long time with a map to finally locate the Charms room at the end of a busy corridor. Inside, the room was a state of general chaos - and some sort of disturbance was afoot in the corner the Slytherins had claimed. The teacher - Flitwick, her timetable said - was nowhere to be seen. (Upon closer inspection, Madison realized it wasn't that he was absent, but rather that he was extremely short, and therefore easy to miss.)

"I was under the impression that we had classes with one other house, at most," Madison said to Terry as she slid into the seat next to him. Her books made a loud CLUNK as her shoulder bag hit the solid wooden desk.

"There you are," the boy replied with obvious relief. "If you hadn't shown up, I'd have had to sit with Gregory." Discreetly, he pointed out a huge brute of a boy who looked as if he belonged in Slytherin. In fact, he looked the part of a Slytherin more than most Slytherins. "Oh - if you've not noticed, there are only six Ravenclaws this year. Slightly on the small side. The Slytherin number is a little low, too, so we're combining sometimes."

"All right. Who's that slight boy sitting next to, er - Gregory?" Madison pointedly avoided the topic of what had happened at breakfast, knowing that it would cause a conflict. She'd only just met Terry; it would be nice if she had at least one friend in her House. "He looks rather like he's in his own fantasy world."

Terry suppressed a grin. "That's because he is. Nathan Something-or-Other. I talked to him yesterday - he's quite brilliant, but in the absentminded professor way. Oh, there's Flitwick. See his stool of books? Tyler - my older brother; he just got a job at the Ministry - told me about old Flitwick."

Madison, however, was not looking at Flitwick climbing unsteadily atop a stack of thick books. Amongst the crowd of Slytherins, she had spotted a head of violet hair. Oh, no. Can't she just stay away?

She had just stood up, ready to go hex the Slytherins to death if need be, when Eowyn emerged from the crowd, towing a slightly teary Japanese girl. Catching a glance from the yellow eyes, Madison cut Terry off - he was saying something about Flitwick's Vanishing Charms. "Er, sorry. I'll be right back."

Without a backward glance, Madison hurried out into the corridor, closing the door tightly behind her. A frown had found its way to her lips. Her eyes caught the letter. Nodding towards it, she told the other girl, "If you didn't want the Slytherins to be all over that, you really should have pocketed it. What is it? And - are you all right? I noticed that something seemed to be amiss, at breakfast."

OOC: There is a drop down list, but it only has the options for Pin, Close, Move and Bump the topic... No merge.

OOC: Ah, poo. Oh well, we'll just have to make do. smile.gif Thx Meg! BTW, the muggle-hater...person, *sweatdrop*, might be an individual, or part of a group. But the reason why no one else knew about the threat in the first book is because he never got to go after anyone but Tomoyo, Eowyn and Madison. It can be like a systematic killing, so he won't target anyone new until the current one's taken care of (and of course, we're not letting ourselves get killed tongue.gif.) Does that make sense?
And sorry this is so short, but I needed to see how you guys reacted first. happy.gif

IC: Relief washed over Tomoyo as she realized she was being pulled away by a familiar hand into the hallway- away from the cutting remarks of the slytherins.

"Daijoubu- ano, I'm fine you guys," she said slowly, seeing if she still had a working voice. Then, the reason why she'd been so desperate to reach them hit her with full force. The young gryffindor forgot about her distress as the goal of fulfilling this priority took over.

Unfolding the rather crinkled parchment, she held it out to the two curious girls, a rare look of seriousness on her face. "It's a threat letter from an anonymous person. We're not to tell the teachers, or it'll be all of our heads."

Tomoyo twiddled her thumbs a bit as she added, "I'm so sorry for getting you guys into this, but I really needed someone to tell this to....and for some reason, you two were the first ones that came to mind."

She waited anxiously as the two read over the letter. Would they take it seriously, or think it was a joke?

OOC: No merge? Okay, then. I guess we will make do. And Jess - yeah, that's the bad part about RPs... sometimes you can't post long complicated passages because you need to have others reacting. smile.gif

IC: Studying Tomoyo's face closely, Madison concluded that this was not some sort of joke. Unless Tomoyo was an excellent actor - but no, springing this sort of prank went in complete contrast to everything Madison knew about the shy Japanese girl.

Madison read the letter swiftly, thoughts springing into her mind and immediately being stamped out by new ones. She stared into space for a moment, thinking. Has anything like this happened in wizard history? Yes, probably. After all, there's discrimination in every society. Well, it's likely that someone is pulling a distateful joke on Tomoyo... those Slytherins would be my prime suspect. Yet... it seems a little harsh, even for a joke...

Carefully, she scanned the hall. No one was in the area. "Tomoyo," she began, choosing her words carefully, "are you absolutely certain that this isn't just a joke? Yes, a rather sick joke. But we have no way of knowing for sure..."

OOC: OK Jessie, you can finish now!

IC: Éowyn stared at Tomoyo skeptially, wondering what the hell this girl thought she was doing. Letters like hers popped up quite frequently in certain places, but she had never heard of a threat note in Hogwarts. Dumbledore was pretty good at keeping things quiet, though.

She glanced at the letter and then snatched it out of Tomoyo's hand. "Sorry, but I want to look at this." There had been supposed trademarks for these letters, like odd printing, but the letter appeared to be normal. It was unusual. It could be a prank... she thought, but the idea was quickly discarded.

...you are unfortunately one of the many muggles and mudbloods who somehow got accepted to a school as prestigious as Hogwarts, School of witchcraft and wizardry.

As a person of responsibility and tradition, I must act on behalf of myself and others... Now, if you'll kindly cooperate and leave the grounds within the next couple months, then no trouble should arise for you or anyone related to you. That includes family, friends, and even pure bloods if I must...

Have a good day!

Oh god. Éowyn had gone through all of that trouble to get Tomoyo out, just to find out that she and the two other girls' heads were on the chopping block. Lovely thought. She really wanted to know who this guy was, so that she could beat the pulp out of him.

Her eyes skimmed the letter again. The man... person was insanse. But he has to act on behalf of himself and others? And he ended the letter with Have a good day! Probably an insane maniac. This would be fun...

OOC: Nice Meg! I knew I could trust you to bring a chopping block into it! happy.gif Thx for posting so fast though guys! And feel free to add in dialogue anywhere, we just needed to get charms started so...lol. Or start from where I left off- eh, whatever works. rolleyes.gif

IC: Tomoyo stared at Madison incredulously while Eowyn skimmed over the letter. It was an odd sensation, having fear settle into your stomach while hope sprung into your heart. If Madison was right, then it was just someone's idea of a sick joke that they could later brush off and laugh at. But if it was serious, then she needed as many people to believe her as she could get.

"I-I'm not sure..." the gryffindor finally got out, biting her lip in nervousness. "If the Slytherins did it though, then Dumbledore would've intercepted the letter before it reached the owl post, wouldn't he? I heard Hogwarts was a heavily guarded school."

As an afterthought, she quickly added, "Not physically, of course. But you guys know what I mean." There was silence for a moment, as everyone absorbed all the events that had been thrown at them in the last five minutes.

Finally, Tomoyo asked the question that had been nagging her for a while.

"So...what do we do now?"

But before anything else could happen between the trio, the bells rang, creating a loud chorus that echoed in the now-empty hall. Charms had just started, and they were already late. Wonderful.

"We'll have to talk about this later, I guess," the vioet haired girl sighed, taking the note back and slipping it into her left pocket- she didn't want it to contaminate the letter from Sakura that currently resided in her right.

Together, they entered the crowded classroom with the near invisible teacher at the front. 'Can't midget teachers just make themselves taller with a spell or something?' the japanese girl wondered, half to take her mind off the letter, and half in genuine curiosity.

Everyone stared at them, no doubt wondering what a Ravenclaw, Slytherin, and Gryffindor were doing together. She didn't know about the other two, but Tomoyo suddenly felt self conscious under the gazes of probably over fifty students.

"Class, class, attention at the front!" Professor Flitwicks's high voice attemtped to call out, making some girls giggle. Namely Parvati and Lavender. "You three girls," he pointed his wand at Eowyn, Madison and Tomoyo, "I'll let it go this once, since it's still early in the year, but I don't want you tardy ever again."

A head of long, purple curls bobbed up and down, and Dean nudged her side. "I never knew you were the class skipping type," he joked, but his friends could see that he was relieved she was alright.

The not-so-authoritative voice of the charms professor sounded again. "For the first class, I wanted to do something fun with you all. Charms is all about the movement of the wand, and the words you say with them..." he squeaked, beaming at his students as if they were avidly interested. Some were, most were already bored.

And so began the first lesson of the year.
