Welcome
to the world of the lost

In the industrial city of Moorebank, Pennsylvania the chaos is rising. In the wake of a rash of assassinations and abductions the city is trying, and failing, to find peace.

William, the vampire Master of the City, has taken on advisors in an attempt to stabilize his Court, but the addition of a Temoin and a Second and Third is taking some adjustment as everyone settles in to their new roles.

The mad leopard Maalik still rules the pard, the pack has just been taken over by a stranger from out of town and no one knows yet what the new Ulfric, Sebastian's agenda might be. The rats have lost two kings in two months and many ask whether Luke is crazy to try and take on the responsibility for the unlucky Clan.

The city teeters on a knife's edge, balanced between order and chaos, safety and terror. Will the city be able to piece itself back together or will it descend into madness and war?

He didn't know how she did it but somehow, through the genius of being her Raegan had somehow managed to give William half the night off. Her reasoning... some labor worked get what is known as half days. Why shouldn't he get the same privileged? William didn't dare argue with her and instantly put a plan into action.

At about 11.30pm a package would arrive at Rebeccas room. A dress in a large box with her name across the front in a foreign flowing script. With the dress was a promise of a night free of the horseman and her car would be waiting downstairs at 1am.

Once she arrived she would find the old carriage waiting for her, William standing there dressed in a cape, top hat and dark red leather pants that just happened to match the detailing of her own clothes.

The moment the box and message had arrived, Becca had ruthlessly cleared the rest of her night and run up to her rooms to get ready. The crimson and black gown William had sent her was completely different from what she usually allowed herself to wear, and (as she had to suspect that William knew very well) she loved it all the more for it being something she could never choose for herself. Paired with long black satin gloves and jet earrings, her hair up in an antiquely-complex twist that sent one long curl falling down over one shoulder and brushing against her ostentatiously bared throat, a lightweight black silk cloak over all, the only thing about Rebecca that wasn't mysterious, elegant, or fascinating as she stepped out to meet the carriage was the huge, happy smile that spread across her face as she walked over to meet her husband.

She laid her hand in his and stepped up into him, head tilted back to meet his eyes. "Why Mister Byron. Fancy meeting you here." The laughter was there at the bottom of her voice, and the pleasure there in her eyes. Becca literally could not remember the last time they'd spent an evening away from the Horseman for no purpose but their own pleasure, she suspected it might have been their honeymoon.

William watched her approached, loving the way the dress clung to her and gave them that old world look, except for the modern twists you just couldn't get away from when you grew up in the twenty first century. He met her part of the way, leaning down to grace a kiss on her lips. "Such an amazing coincidence." He respond with a smirk, holding out a single red rose in full bloom. "For you." he offered before guiding her to the carriage.

"I hate to say it, but this new secretary is a gift. Raegan is never leaving my Christmas card list."

Laying her hand in William's as she stepped up into the carriage, Becca reclaimed it once they were seated inside. "She stays on mine forever too. Of course, Keane keeps my Christmas card list, and Raegan keeps yours. But at least we can be completely sure they won't be forgotten." She brushed the rose against her cheek, it felt cool and smooth, remarkably like William's skin in certain places on her body.

"So I thought we could head to the park, get in some scenery, remind ourselves that we do have a world that isn't just stone and brick." William closed the carriage door behind them and tapped the roof, the shifter who was acting as driver set off, and the sound of horse shoes hitting the pavement started. "I brought a small picnic for you, and a bottle of wine if you want it." he told his wife, cuddling in easily at her side as the evening started

"That sounds wonderful." She lifted his hand in hers and kissed the back of it, ridiculously pleased just to be out and about with him and looking forward to, well, anything he wanted to do. "When's the last time you got out of the club that wasn't crisis mode or just to get from there to somewhere else you desperately needed to be?"

"You know, I really can't remember when the last time was. The meetings and things normally happen inside the Horseman. I wanna say sometime around the wedding, but I can't be sure." he paused to really consider it. "The horseman has completely and utterly consumed me. Its strange how it did that. But also not completely unexpected." He shrugged and pulled Becca in closer so she was practically sitting on his lap, an arm around her and stroking her shoulder lightly.

"I hope you like the dress, but I thought with tonight being all about fantasy, the whole horse and carriage thing... we can at least dress the part." he tipped his hat to her

"It's gorgeous." She smiled at him, reaching up to touch his cheek with a gloved finger and finding that the barrier between her fingertips and his skin was both frustrating and intriguing. She wanted to touch him properly, but the gloves gave the promise of more to come later. "I never get to wear things like this, always so busy projecting the image. I feel a little like I get to grow up tonight. And a little like a kid in the best Halloween costume ever."

William chuckled, putting his hands over her gloved one as she stroked his face just to make the contact last a little longer. He had run the dress past Raegan who had warned him it was very Seregwen-esq, and if Rebecca thought it as well, the perhaps she wouldn't be so happy with him. But the whole thing had gone off without a hitch, which made the vampire happy with his choices.

"Speaking of Halloween, you worked out what to wear to Seregwen's bash?" William asked as he nuzzled his face into her hand, layering the glove with kisses. "If we don't go it will be a pretty big insult."

She smiled and ran satin-clad fingertips into the hollow of his temple. "I was going to chicken out and just pick something to match what you chose. My one real thought was to go historical. Recent historical, twentieth century, rather than really old-fashioned. Allison's been going through all the Horseman's clothing and she found clothes going back to the twenties. And really, vintage stuff always looks so much better than renting a costume or even having something made. The construction methods and colors are right, it looks like clothes instead of a costume." And tends to make those around you who went the costume route look cheap and like they're missing the point, which wasn't a bad message to send even if it was completely secondary.

"I found a gorgeous late-twenties beaded dress that I sent off to have cleaned and restored, thinking I might even wear it some night at the club. But d'you want to go all gangster-and-his-moll with it?" She grinned at him, all too easy to picture William in a tilted fedora, the brim casting harsh shadows across his face.

"I'm glad we found something for the girl to do to kill the night time hours." Yeap, William was taking full credit for a plan he really had no part in. Diana had considered Allison for the role, and Becca had oked it. But William was her 'master', and so effectively everything Becca did was reflected directly on him. "You know, between screwing every male in the horseman and avoiding Diana." he sighed. Diana's love life always seemed so messy... not that William had much space to talk. His life could get pretty messy quickly, especially with all the little secrets he was keeping from his lovely wife.

"I have been gaining a love for hats..." he said as a teaser, considering the options. A s the master of the city and her being his human servant, they should be a matching pair, showing a united front. "I like it. I can even work on my crappy Italian accent." he teased, constantly snuggling into her and cuddling the girl close.

"She was bound to go through that adolescent self-destructive thing sooner or later," Becca said soothingly. "She didn't flail around being oh-so-emo about being turned, despite the circumstances, it was sure to bust out some other way."

Smiling at Will and just barely tugging the ends of his hair, Becca said, "You'd be a very handsome gangster, love. I'd load your tommy guns and keep the Model-T running while you knocked over a bank any time."

William chuckled with a nod. All things considered Allison had taken to the whole vampire thing quite well. It was just her personal life that was holding her back. Or rather what she thought her personal life should be. But enough about the little vamp that might be, Becca was far more distracting then William ever gave her credit for and her cuteness, the thing that had brought him to her in the first place was definitely showing regardless of her grown up attire.

"See and people think you are just a pretty face. You could plan a whole bank robbery in the time it takes to get dressed." he teased, guiding her lips to his mouth

"Probably," she murmured, nipping once at his bottom lip just before the kiss got started. "You ever want to cast all this aside and enter into a life of crime, we've got it covered." And then she was kissing him, just as enthusiastic about it as she'd been the first time he'd ever touched her. It never got any less exciting, kissing William. Nothing commonplace about it, every single time was the best it had ever been.

William moaned his agreement into the kiss. Their lips locked and slid over each other with the same vigerousness and excitement of their first kiss. William never understood it, but he never questioned it either. Kissing Rebecca was like no one else he had ever met, and that included a long list of men and women. And it always made him think of sex, and his body would react with the thought, leaving William hard inside his pants within moments of the kiss starting.
