An Hour Before Darkness Falls, Open

[Sho]

Sho was an early riser, everybody in the Horseman and the Butterfly knew it. Nobody knew why, since it was never proven that Sho had reached a master status, but the blue-eyed vampire could always be found awake a couple hours before sunset, before Seregwen or even William woke.

Of course, now he used that time wisely. He always cleared an hour to play with Darri. That hadn't changed since Jamie had come back and Sho still insisted on seeing Darilynn. He might not be her father, but he could still make himself important in her life. It kinda helped fill the void left when he didn't get to raise Hana.

At the moment, the vampire wasn't even dressed. His dark hair was braided and he was wearing a pair if flannel pajama pants with a white t-shirt. Darri was sitting in his lap, her wide eyes looking at the pages of the book Sho was reading to her. Normally, he played with her, then read to her for the last thirty minutes of his time to calm her down before bedtime.

Genvieve enjoyed the time with Sho at the end of the day. He was a simple vampire with simple tastes and took direction well which was always a good thing to see with so many vampires concerned with the rat race of life. "I am making her evening bottle Sho." she warned the vampire before stepping into the little kitchenette. Darilynn's life was starting to pick up a little now that her father had returned. But some things never changed and Sho feeding Darri her evening bottle seemed to be stuck in the schedual

[Sho]

"Okay, Genvieve," Sho chuckled softly as he watched the wolf go into the kitchenette before returning back to Darri's story. The girl was quiet now, her energy from playing with her never-tiring playmate was winding down and she was rubbing her eyes. She was sure to fall asleep as Sho fed her. The vampire smiled and kissed the top of her dark hair, then continued to read to the girl until her caretaker came back with her evening bottle.

Genvieve returned with the cow milk and water combination which had been warmed to the perfect temperature for the child. She was getting out of the bottle stage with every other drink except her night time feeding. For some reason the girl just would not give that up. "Here." she whispered as she passed Sho the warmed bottle. "Make sure she drinks it all. Unless she falls asleep first." she told the vampire before moving away and making the final preparations for the night nurse.

[Sho]

Sho smiled and took the bottle from Genvieve. "Thanks, sure she'll down all of it before she goes to sleep." Sho allowed Darri to lean into the cradle of his arm as he gave the girl the bottle to drink. The little girl leand against Sho's arm, her dark eyes looking up at him and around the room. He could see how tired she was, and how the warm milk was making her even more sleepy. Her eyelids dropped, closing for a few seconds before reopening and looking around again. It was adorable to see her fighting sleep like this. But soon she succumbed to sleep, the bottle falling out of her mouth and into her lap. She hadn't left much in the bottle, and Sho set it aside as he gently picked the girl up.

"And she's out," he whispered with a smile, kissing Darri's forehead as he carried her over to her crib and gently settled her down into it, covering the child with a blanket before he turned to the wolf. "She's asleep. Hopefully for the rest of the night." Sho would know of Darri woke, the night nurse often sent word to the vampire that the child was awake and Sho would leave the floor to help lull her back to sleep.

[Genvieve Klok]

Darilynn murmured in her sleep, but did not wake. "She is getting better at sleeping thought the night." she said a little thoughtfully. "So what are you doing for the rest of the night?"

[Sho]

"Eh, the normal," Sho shrugged, watching Darilynn as she slept, "Go out to the club, look pretty, throw out random troublemakers. All in a night's work." The vampire smiled at the wolf a bit. "For some odd reason, people like me and miss me when I'm not on the floor. Can't for the life of me figure out why." He flashed Genvieve a mischevious grin. Self-esteem issues normally didn't plague Sho. He knew he was awesome and didn't need anybody telling him otherwise.

"Well I will let you get to it Sho." Genvieve said with a smile. "I have a kitten waiting for me at home." She moved past him to start to collect her things.
