to the world of the lost
In the industrial city of Moorebank, Pennsylvania the chaos is rising. In the wake of a rash of assassinations and abductions the city is trying, and failing, to find peace.
William, the vampire Master of the City, has taken on advisors in an attempt to stabilize his Court, but the addition of a Temoin and a Second and Third is taking some adjustment as everyone settles in to their new roles.
The mad leopard Maalik still rules the pard, the pack has just been taken over by a stranger from out of town and no one knows yet what the new Ulfric, Sebastian's agenda might be. The rats have lost two kings in two months and many ask whether Luke is crazy to try and take on the responsibility for the unlucky Clan.
The city teeters on a knife's edge, balanced between order and chaos, safety and terror. Will the city be able to piece itself back together or will it descend into madness and war?

When the Napoleonic wars started, he couldn't stand by and let everyone else fight, so he took the King's Shilling and joined the army. His father couldn't afford to buy him a commission, so he went as a common soldier. He was in France fighting when he was shot while away from his unit. It was night and he had promised to meet a local girl for an evening's tryst. He was spotted and shot by her fiance and lay in the woods wounded and bleeding. A pale woman came to him and offered to save his life in exchange for his service. He knew he was dying and he was willing to do almost anything to prevent it, even deal with the devil. Little did he know how close that was. The woman was Angelique, a vampire of the Belle Morte line. She turned him and made him her slave. She taught him how to survive as a vampire but also made his life a living hell. She delighted in tormenting him, after all his life was hers. He learned discipline and control under her and was happy when she was finally killed in the early 1900's.
He left Europe and sailed to the US. There he traveled as often as he dared, until he wound up in San Francisco in 1907. The city was still recovering from it's massive earthquake in 1906, but that only made for lots of jobs and a real Barbary Coast atmosphere. He settled and swore a blood oath to the Master of the City, Elizabeth. Bess was a character on her own, and was well liked by most of the city officials. She put him to work managing one of her saloons. He threw himself into his work and the Lucky Lady saloon was soon the most successful one on the waterfront. He would work for 20 or so years at one job then move to another one that wasn't so visible for awhile then show back up as a cousin of his prior self so that no one would notice that he wouldn't age.
He watched the city grow and change. Finally he met her, Maggie, the light of his life. She had come into the bar, and he carded her like normal, but she wasn't the 21 that her license showed. He didn't kick her out but he wouldn't allow her to drink alcohol. She was a runaway and living in a commune in the Haight. He found her interesting and soon they were living together. She had no problem donating blood to a vampire, in fact she thought it was cool. She also encouraged her friends to donate, as he couldn't drink from her every day. He marked her after several months and wanted to give her the third mark, but she wouldn't allow it. They lived together and it was wonderful. Then one night she was walking to meet him. She was attacked and robbed. The robber stabbed her so she couldn't snitch on him. She died before she was found. He was horrified. He couldn't believe that his beloved Maggie was gone, and that his city had been where it happened. Everywhere he went in his beloved San Francisco reminded him of her, and what they had together. He had to get out. He petitioned the current Master of the City, Bess had died the final death many years prior, for permission to find another Master that would take him. He had to find somewhere that didn't remind him of Maggie and the good times they had together. role-playing sample --
Dominic stepped off the plane in the Moorebank airport. The evening flight from the West Coast had left him here. He wondered if this would be the right place for him. He had heard the rumors of this place, that William was a new Master. That he had taken the City after the previous Master had died. That she was back from the dead, just what he needed a place where all kinds of weird vampire magics were happening. But he had asked to be traded and this is where he was sent. It would be fine once he was used to being away from the coast and San Francisco.
He looked up as a uniformed man holding a small sign approached him. Dominic? he asked. I'm here from the 4th Horseman. If you will follow me? He followed the chauffeur to the limo. At least the Master had the good taste to send a limo to the airport for him. Maybe this gig wouldn't be too bad.
He would have to show what he could do and try to fit into the established order. Luckily he was good with people and competent to run a bar, hotel, or any sort of entertainment venue. As long as William wasn't like some of the other Belle Morte vampires that he'd met over the years. He didn't want to be controlled sexually, but if William didn't need him in that capacity, then they would get along fine. read the rules: Everytime I need to. ----------------------------------------------------------  ----------------------------------------------------------
