Welcome
to the world of the lost

In the industrial city of Moorebank, Pennsylvania the chaos is rising. In the wake of a rash of assassinations and abductions the city is trying, and failing, to find peace.

William, the vampire Master of the City, has taken on advisors in an attempt to stabilize his Court, but the addition of a Temoin and a Second and Third is taking some adjustment as everyone settles in to their new roles.

The mad leopard Maalik still rules the pard, the pack has just been taken over by a stranger from out of town and no one knows yet what the new Ulfric, Sebastian's agenda might be. The rats have lost two kings in two months and many ask whether Luke is crazy to try and take on the responsibility for the unlucky Clan.

The city teeters on a knife's edge, balanced between order and chaos, safety and terror. Will the city be able to piece itself back together or will it descend into madness and war?

Sebastian's card had barely been processed for the large villa suite of the hotel when he announced they would be visiting the local pack. Of course he gave them time to change. Although he wasn't a very patient man, Bastian did like to make a good first impression. If that meant allowing his pack mate time for a shower, a shave and a change of clothes then so be it. He trusted they would be out of the door within an appropriate time.

The news of the ulfric-less pack was slowly spreading across America, and Sebastian would not let this prize be cheated from him because of delays if he could help it. With little warming he gathered his troupes and left for Moorebank. They had not complained and Sebastian knew they wouldn't. They trusted him, as all good pack members should trust their ulfric.

A pack with no leader was barely a pack at all. The joke of saying they were lead by a lupa had made Bastian laugh out loud. The very idea of it now had him smiling as he approached the local packs home. A lupa could not lead. That was be like the blind leading the deaf. A lupa was the fancy title for the Ulfric's lover. she held no real power. Although Sebastian was looking for a way to take this pack without a fight and the so called lupa was quite an attractive, if not older, beauty. He doubted there would be many troubles wooing her to his ideas.

The cabs stopped, one after the other, and Sebastian emerged and lead the way to the house, his wolves and magician forming a perfect V behind him. He doubted there would be an attack from this pack, but if there was, Sebastian's team would be ready for them before they struck. He knocked at the door, breathing in the scent of wolf and awaiting for someone to answer the door.

They had heard of the arrival of a strange wolf pack in their territory, it wasn't hard to get that kind of information. So the wolves of the local pack had assembled at the pack house under Aislinn's orders. She would wait for them to make the first move in order to determine if they were simply passing through, or if they were looking to take over the currently ulfric-less pack. To the wolves of the pack, it didn't matter that a Lupa was their leader. Johnny had trusted the woman to be his partner.

Aislinn, herself, answered the door. It might have been a stupid move, but the wolf Lupa refused to let these wolves believe that they had intimidated her into hiding behind her Skoll and Hati. She hadn't even dressed up for the occasion, but at least the jeans she wore were new as was the long-sleeved shirt. The Lupa's hair was tied back with a scarf and her feet were bare, resting comfortably on the carpeted floor of the pack house.

"Good evening," Aislinn greeted the wolves with a slight nod of her head, but the defensive tension didn't drain from her body. These were strange wolves, and she would rather they kill her than harm her pack. "Can I help you?"

Anthony was standing at the back of the group of wolves, always near yet a little apart and for so very many reasons. Eyes drooped mostly closed like he was sleepy or shy, when in fact he was studying the surroundings for any sign of magical protections. Nothing but a few tattered fragments that had to be years old. Maybe they'd had a vargamor once but not replaced them when they died. A stupid decision, it seemed to him, but then his perspective had to be taken into account.

When the Lupa came to the door he could have laughed at her opening gambit. 'Can I help you?' Anthony had a terrible impulse to ask her whether she'd ever considered the question of her eternal soul, maybe hand her a copy of the Watchtower. He didn't, but he wanted to. Instead what he actually did was reach into the hip pocket of his jeans and find the knotted mandala of silks that was a protective spell for Sebastian, ready to snap the threads to activate the magic at the first sign of aggression from the Lupa or any of her dogs.

The lupa came to the door and Sebastian smiled, keeping hiw own thoughts about her at the back of his mind. He was giving off firm, friendly vibes the kind of thing that you would expect from an alpha leader."Evening." he said, his voice calm and collected if not just a little colder. He scented Anthony's actions at the back of the pack and he smiled. Was nice to know he was on his tes even though this seemed like a simple conquer mission.

He looked past the 'lupa' to the rest of the wolves behind her. He did not want to adopt a group of minors, but from what he could see the pack was offering many different positions. He liked that. No use having a pack that was full of dominants or submissive. Sebastian took his time glancing at the visable wolves inside the home, not feeling at all rush. In fact the young man looked absolutely pleased with himself with an air of comfort. Finally those blue eyes came back to Aislinn.

"I would hope so Ms Aislinn." he finally replied to her common question. could she help him? perhaps. Would she... oh Sebastian would definitely make sure she did that. Either by force or seductive wooing Aislinn would play her part in this take over. "I am Sebastian, and would like to declare my intentions for the Moorebank pack." he said easily.

She moved in a casual manner, leaning against the doorframe, her shoulder resting on the wood as her hip cocked slightly in the motion. It looked casual, but it was Aislinn telling the wolf that she wasn't just going to step back and allow him into her home. This was her house and her pack's sanctuary. Not only that, but it blocked his view of the other wolves gathered in the living room. Keep his attention on her and not her pack.

"Oh?" she arched an unimpressed eyebrow at the man as he made his declaration about wanting to make his intentions towards her pack known, "And may I ask what these intentions are?" If they were taking over her pack, then she was surely going to have objections, both verbal and physical. Behind her, the Hati and Skoll of her pack stiffened, watching the interaction at the door and prepared to leap to their Lupa's defense if the strange wolf attacked her.

At the back of the group Anthony never took his hand out of his pocket, still ready to use the spell he'd prepared. He dropped his head forward at the lupa's words; it could have been a greeting or a gesture of respect. It wasn't, but could have been. With his hair hanging around his face, the bokor breathed out the opening verse of an incantation, preparing it but not yet releasing it into the world. If there was need, he would be ready.

Sebastian chuckled, a hand on his chest as one of his girls stepped forward, closer to his back, her hands clenching and unclenching as she forced them not to shift in preparation of protecting her king if he needed her. "Come now Aislinn, you knew this day was coming. A face such as your, in a town of this reputation I am shocked you have remained kingless for this long." he said with a smile on his face. "I am simply being polite. There is no need to be so aggressive.' he childed her, sparing a glance and his girl immediately backed down and took her spot by him again. Sebastian was showing his control over his pack, showing off the skills he wished to make hers.

"I could have been rude and a viking and come running in here, fangs bared and claws curved and taken you and your family by force." He said, sounding almost a little bored with the vision in his head. "But have I?" he asked, breaking his own daydream with speech. "I am no beast, and I will not become one. If a fight you are looking for, you shall have it. But it was not my intentions." he promised her. "I simply thought I would stop by and let you know my intentions for being in your territory." he told her simply.

"which you have little say in protecting." He reminded her with a duck of his head, the dark blonde locks falling by his eyes. "You have no king, no ulfric to enforce your laws. It is simply politeness that brings me here tonight. For all purposes I could simply claim this town for my own and force you to join or leave. But I don't want that Aislinn." he reassured her

"And what if we don't want you?" Aislinn asked in a bored tone of voice, her hazel eyes looking down at her nails before looking back at the male wolf, "We've done fine thus far without a 'king' to rule the pack. What has given you the assumption that we are in dire need of an Ulfric?" She glanced over her shoulder at the Skoll and Hati, who were slowly edging towards their Lupa. Aislinn's wolves were loyal to their Lupa, that was shown by how defensive they were.

"What do you expect of us?" she went on, her eyes returning to the male in front of her, "Do you expect us to just bow down and allow you in without any questions or objections? I apologize, but we're not the kind to just lay down and take orders from just any wolf who waltzes into town. If you know of my pack, then you know we have been through far too many trials to have our ways and our name wiped out of existance simply because we are lead by a female and not a male." Her pack wasn't going to trust anybody. People thought them weak for having a Lupa and no Ulfric, but Aislinn knew her pack better. They were stronger than they appeared. "We wish a fight no more than you do, but this is our territory. If with want it, you'll have to earn it."

Head down, eyes peering out through the fallen curtain of his hair, Anthony stood very still and simply waited. The spell quivered on the tip of his tongue, ready to be released or dismissed with a single word. The mandala was stretched between his fingertips, he could snap it or let it go in a heartbeat. It was moments like this that the witch was at his most wolflike. Still, ready, neutral. Ready to burst into action or to walk away indifferently; waiting on the actions of the woman and the signals of his Ulfric and held in a perfect moment of suspension until one or the other spurred him to act.

Sebastian smiled and leant into the woman slightly as he spoke next, not to be rude or disrespectful, just to be closer to her. Or so it seemed. "I am not a man of many words Aislinn. What else do you want me to say? I am here to lay claim to your pack. Since there is no ulfric to greet my challenge, I purpose a Freyja chase." at this Sebastian leered at her, letting her see the lust in his frame, the passion in his eyes, the desire for this to happen. "Let this pack once and for all what it is capable of." he said when his gaze final reached her eyes again

Aislinn didn't move when the male wolf leaned in close. She didn't like him leaning in like that, but she wasn't going to make it seem like it was really bothering her. At the mention of a Freyja chase, the males of her own pack stiffened up. One hadn't been called in their pack since Johnny's death, and now a strange wolf was wanting one. Aislinn blinked a bit, then snorted softly.

"A Freyja chase?" she asked, staring at the man as he leered at her. She didn't want to take the gamble, but she knew there were few options. The pack wasn't going to just lay down and let anybody take over. And Aislinn didn't want to get into a territory fight between her pack and this new one. A Freyja chase seemed a more appropriate option. At least this upstart would have to prove himself to her and the males of her pack.

"As you wish," Aislinn said, stepping into the house for a brief moment before returning with a steel knife. She knew the rules and knew the ways to start this. As she held the knife in her hand, she spoke the words that would start the chase, words older than Aislinn, herself, knew. "Your heart to mine, mine to yours. Lupa to your Ulfric. But not to your bed, nor you to mine." The wolf followed instinct and tradition and threw the blade down at Sebastian's feet, her hazel eyes flashing. "Claim me if you can."

The males of her pack howled as Aislinn shoved Sebastian back suddenly and took off. It didn't matter that she was barefoot. Aislinn was as surefooted without shoes as she was with. The males of her pack she knew wouldn't give the new ones much of a chance before they started after her.

The moment Aislinn began to run, Anthony moved to flatten himself against the wall of the house. He had no part in this, to help or hinder. And, well, if he had certain magics in place which would let him know if something unexpected happen and Sebastian began to falter, there was nothing wrong in that. It is the job of the vargamor to guard the Ulfric, and a little discreet help would probably go unnoticed. If there was need for it.

The chase was on, and although Sebastian was expecting her to claim to need twenty four fours to prepare, he had not counted on it. With a grin, his leather shoes tossed to the blonde woman who had come with him, his shirt handed to the rather rough looking man, he patted Anthony on th shoulder in what could be seen as a matey way. In fact it had altered his perception. Although his resolution for this race was to claim the lupa, he would let the lesser wolves fight each other for a moment. No, with the hand to shoulder contact Sebastian's eyes sights narrowed on his best competition. The first and second lieutenant to be exact. His had his own wolves and he had plans for them.

He took off, bare feet carrying him seemingly effortlessly after Aislinn. He could hear the commotion ahead of him, but he ignored it. The hati had gone down easily. Sebastian had simply pounced and landed on the guys back, clawed hands slicing into the tender flesh of the throat and ripped his head free from his muscular shouldres. The body was still running as he fell forward and Sebastian knew it would take a moment before it died, but for now he had better things to do.

With blood drying on his hybrid claws, he took chase to find the skoll. And then the lupa. He smirked to himself, wondering if she would mind his blood hands when he caught her.

Aislinn heard the dying howl of her Hati and wanted to stop, but she knew she couldn't. She would mourn the loss of her Hati after the chase was over. And male wolves killing other male wolves during the chase was common, but Aislinn, herself, had never been in a chase before. This was entirely new.

She kept running, weaving a complex pattern through the trees of the woods. They weren't too far from the lupanar. But she couldn't get distracted by it, and she veered off away from their meeting place. No, Sebastian wasn't going to get to enter their lupanar until he had proven himself worthy to be able to set foot there. He hadn't yet, just proven he was after blood as well as her.

With her body on auto-pilot, weaving through the trees she knew best, her mind was able to wander. Why, after so long, was there a male so desperate to claim the title of Ulfric? Why would be want to? He already had a pack of loyal wolves, did he so desperately need more?

The skoll was slightly more impressive then her Hati. But only slightly. The fight had played out with his dead and Sebastian bleeding but he did not stop to gloat at his good work. He went on, bare feet hitting the dirt and never slipping as he ran the unfamiliar track through the woods he didn't know. But it didn't bother him. The chase was on, two of her strongest left to bleed out their lives into the dirt, his body fueled on the rush of the win.

He saw her just ahead , and he out on that little extra spurt of speed. He reached out to catch her fluttering hair when suddenly he was knocked to the side. The wolf that tackled him fell too and the pair tumbled through the trees, leaving broken trunks in their wake. Sebastian recovered faster, and he struck the boy in the face, knowing he was seeing stars now. Straddling him, Sebastian hit his face until the kid lost consciousness. But just to make a point, Bastian picked him up and threw his rival into a tree. The satisfying sound of his back bone shattering followed Sebastian as he took chase again.

He didn't think as he ran, but seemed to be on auto pilot. He trusted his instints, gave his human form fully over to his shifter brain and it showed as he caught up with Aislinn within a moment of loosing her. And this time when he reached out for her hair, he caught it and he tugged the woman into his body, the sudden change in momentum forcing them to fall but it didn't matter to him. He had finally caught her. The pack was his.
