Welcome
to the world of the lost
In the industrial city of Moorebank, Pennsylvania the chaos is rising. In the wake of a rash of assassinations and abductions the city is trying, and failing, to find peace.
William, the vampire Master of the City, has taken on advisors in an attempt to stabilize his Court, but the addition of a Temoin and a Second and Third is taking some adjustment as everyone settles in to their new roles.
The mad leopard Maalik still rules the pard, the pack has just been taken over by a stranger from out of town and no one knows yet what the new Ulfric, Sebastian's agenda might be. The rats have lost two kings in two months and many ask whether Luke is crazy to try and take on the responsibility for the unlucky Clan.
The city teeters on a knife's edge, balanced between order and chaos, safety and terror. Will the city be able to piece itself back together or will it descend into madness and war?

Viviane had spent the week trying to figure out what she was supposed to be doing in her new life at the Horseman. She had met most of the staff and they seemed interesting. She hadn't really hit it off with most of them, as they were loyal to Becca but they hadn't been at least openly hostile. She dressed in one of the purple dresses that she and Becca had picked out and added her accessories. Amythest jewelry in the same shade of purple adorned her throat and wrist. She had dyed to match shoes and handbag so she was a vision of purple. It went well with her red hair that she had taken the time to put up in a simple french twist. It showed off her neck, just what she had wanted to go into a vampire bar, but she had also doused herself with a perfume that went well with William's scent.
She would have to seek him out when she was down there, so that he could mark her as his. That way it would be known that she was off limits to the other vamps. No one else could take her blood. That was the rule, unless she and William both agreed, and he didn't share with just anyone. She put her makeup kit and her other necessities in her bag and headed down. She felt like a movie star in the dress, all 50's glam. She put a big smile on her face and headed out into the crowd.

Christina had been given baby sitting duty from William to make sure that Viviane was safe and sitting pretty while she investigated the main dance floor of the club. Ok, so he hadn't put it like that. It wasn't technically babysitting, but Christina still felt like that was exactly what she was doing. But she couldn't complain. Mainly because she didn't have anything else to do but man the phones in front of the Williams office. So she dressed for the club not wanting to be there. She could leave once William made his big dramatic vampire appearance, but that wouldn't be for another hour or so. William was worried about Viviane, and Christina wondered how much of it was him actually concerned for her and how much was concerned she was gonna fuck up. She dressed and walked down the stairs, meeting Viviane and taking her arm confidently. "William will be right down. He just needs to get some paper work done." she explained her appearance. outfit

"Thanks Christina, I appreciate it. I know that William doesn't like me down here by myself. I know I'm new here and that will attract attention like I did the first time I came here." She spotted a free table. "Why don't we go sit and wait for him together, that way we won't be so visible." And Christina could keep an eye on her and make sure she didn't screw up again, like she had the first time she walked into the place. She had gotten used to everyone treating her like a bomb about ready to go off, or a two year old that didn't have proper manners. Well she was young in the vampire world and though she did have power, she didn't know what to do with it. So yeah both of those analogies were valid.
"I appreciate that you came to help keep me out of trouble. But I was going stir crazy up in that room. I had to get out for awhile and if I had to be somewhere, at least I'm close where you all can keep track of me." she murmured to Christina. "So William should be making an appearance later?" she asked casually, she hadn't seen much of him lately.

Christina went to the table Viviane had gestured to and sat in the seat and propped her head up on the table with her hand, looking all the part of a bored teenager, even though she was older then the woman sitting opposite her. "Yeah, he makes an appearance every night. Not always the same amount of time but he has to be here. Sorta expected." she explained. She so didn't want to be here. She didn't want to be anywhere. She knew she had to exist, but she didn't want to beat the horseman, but she didn't know anywhere else to be

"I sorta figured that was what he did. You okay? You don't have to sit and keep me company unless that is what you are supposed to do, I know I'm not allowed out by myself unless I'm going to the cemetary on a job and even then most of the time someone tags along. I'm just trying to get used to the whole idea of who and what I am now." she smiled wanly at the girl.
She knew that this girl had been a human servant to the Vampire Seregwen and was a lot older than she looked. They had drilled into her who everyone was, and how everyone interrelated. It had been like trying to catch up on a soap opera that had been going on for years and she was new to the story. Figuring out all the relationships hadn't been easy until she sat down and actually mapped it out on the computer. Now she was starting to understand, and it was starting to make sense as she met and interacted with each of the people that made up the story of Moorebank. Now they had a person that didn't know what was going on stomping around in big muddy boots in the middle of the story going 'hey look at me'. She just needed time to smooth out the rough edges and put away the boots.
"Is there anything you wanted to talk about? I'm sort of the outsider here, and I listen real well. I don't know anyone to spill the beans to, so I'm a pretty safe sounding board." she offered, the girl seemed upset in some way. She was just killing time here until William showed up.

"Yeah, that is what I gotta do. Not to keep you from doing something stupid exactly, but more to make sure you don't slip up something to the wrong person. There is a difference." She said, running a hand back through her hair. "Not really. But thanks for caring enough to offer." Christina flashed her a grin before she closed down again

"Okay," she said. Well this was marginally better than sitting in her room, wondering if William would have the time to come see her. At least there was some semblance of being part of the Horseman scene. She sat there watching the dancers, listening to the music, and being totally bored with a non-communicative babysitter. She should have gone out to the cemetary or something. At least zombies would answer questions.

Jamie hadn't been working the club that night, he was still getting his feet under him and wasn't up to showing off for the tourists yet. But he'd come down to have a couple of drinks with some of his friends among the Willing who were still around and had ended up getting conscripted by Becca. This was always a danger when getting too close to the human servant, who seemed to have zero concept of downtime. She'd sent him over to Christina and Viviane's table to meet William's new pet and make sure she was having a good time. This order had caused the leopard to give Becca a very long, very dry sort of look, but she just laughed and told him to go be social, it wouldn't kill him. So the leopard went over to the table and bent over to kiss Chrissy's cheek and said, "Hey, you two. How's it going?" He straightened and smiled at Viviane, holding out a hand to her. "I'm Jamie, I don't think we've gotten a chance to meet yet. I work on the office end of things, less glamorous than the ones they usually trot right out." He grinned at the redhead, gesturing at himself as though to show how unpresentable he was. It was certainly true that he wasn't dressed to the standards of most of the people in the club, instead looking comfortable and casual in a beige linen shirt with the sleeves rolled up and distressed black jeans, a leather wristband and necklace, nothing fancy. Jamie himself was nothing fancy; a tall, lanky guy with his hair falling in his eyes and an interestingly ugly face, the kind of man who certain women would find sexy without ever calling handsome and others would consider nothing worth noticing.

"I know I'm as boring as fuck, but really Viviane, I don't give a damn. Entertaining you isn't my job." she said with a shrug before Jamie interrupted them. She tried not to glare, not sure if she was succeeding, and again she really didn't care. There wasn't much Christina cared about these days. It was getting harder to get out of her room. Maybe it was time to test greener pastures.

"Hi Jamie, I'm Viviane, and that's okay, I don't think they have a real dress code here. But you would know better than I. I'm real new here." She smiled and shook his hand. "Please join us," she gestured to an empty seat. "So you work in the office? How do you like it here?" she hoped he was a bit more forthcoming than Christina was tonight. Maybe she ought to get a drink or something.

Jamie grinned at Viviane, though he was thinking harder about Christina's mood than it looked like he was. "I don't have a drink. You want to come up to the bar and get something? I mean, I could be a gentleman and offer to bring one back to you, but why set the bar of expectation unreasonably high? You'd just be disappointed later."

Christina waved them off with a hand, the other still holding her head up, blonde stands framing her face. "Go, drink, be merry. I can mind the table. Just don't talk to anyone you shouldn't." she said to them both, although her eyes were unfocused and it seemed almost like she was just speaking to herself.

"Yes, Christina, I'll be good." she said in a singsong voice. She should sit down and be good but she had been so good this last week that she was willing to be a little bit naughty. "Thank you, Jamie, I'd love to accompany you to the bar for a drink." she said rising and taking his arm. "Of course if William shows up, I'll have to leave you, I am waiting for him." she warned the man with a wink. She would play the woman waiting for her man, and be very proper with Jamie, though a cold drink sounded really good right now.

Jamie snorted as they walked across the floor toward the bar, he stared down a pair of humans who were in the spot he wanted and miraculously cleared them a pair of stools. "Relax, princess. I don't poach the Master's pets, that's a good way to end up dead or scrubbing floors, and I got problems of my own. I'm not going to be getting ideas above my station. Or above yours." When the bartender came over he ordered himself a vodka tonic with a lemon and turned to her, "What'll you have?"

"I'd better stick with a ginger ale with a cherry. Last time I ordered alcohol in here I wound up the evening with William. I plan to do that tonight too, but I wouldn't want anyone else to get ideas." She snickered. What a night that was, but I won't go into it here. I don't need to tell the whole bar." she knew better than to say anymore than what she already had. "So why haven't I met you yet, I thought I had met almost everyone at the Horseman in the last few days, though I'm sure I couldn't name most of them. It's been a rough week." she snagged a barstool.
