Overview

The Elixir of Life is set in Amestris in the year 1914. It is focused on the way of the Amestrian military, although the heart of the roleplay is about the elixir of life instead of the philosopher’s stone. Since the RP is only based on the anime Fullmetal Alchemist, it means that Edward Elric and the other characters from the anime NEVER existed here. The characters are and should be the product of EoL’s brilliant minds. EoL targets intermediate roleplayers who have an affinity for Fullmetal Alchemist.

Location

The EoL world revolves around the military-governed country of Amestris. Although characters in this RP may come from other countries, still the roleplay will focus on the happenings inside Amestris, including Ishbal which has been conquered years ago by the said country.

Time

Basically, EoL time is the same as the FMA time. Since the RP was officially opened in 2007 and the FMA time starts in 1914, therefore, 1914 is equivalent to real life’s 2007.

Elixir of Life

The so-called ‘elixir of life’ is a substance which is said to grant anyone the power of immortality, as well as bestowing life to the dead. The people’s interest was averted to the elixir of life since it has been said that the elixir easier to make than the philosopher’s stone. Some say it is made of a phoenix’s feather, some say it is a water-like substance which can be found at the ‘center of the world.’ However, up until this time, no one has succeeded in making one. Most of those who try end up missing, or dead.

Similarities to Fullmetal Alchemist

EoL uses the same location and time as the anime. EoL’s Amestris is also under a military government and state alchemists have a vital part in the story. Not only that, the production of an authentic elixir of life is similar to that of the philosopher’s stone’s. Also, EoL is based on the FMA anime, not the manga.

Difference from Fullmetal Alchemist

For starters, EoL doesn’t allow characters from the anime FMA. Also, here we don’t use the philosopher’s stone but instead we have the elixir of life. Not only that, in the EoL world, an actual military school (Amestris Military Academy) is instituted. We also have a Japanese town (Seizumi) in this RP.
