While we do expect you to of course follow the main ruleset of E-Lit, we also expect that you show respect to the individual rulesets for the forums. This ruleset applies to all of the writing forums, for showing off and discussing works.
Post Only If It's Worth It Make sure your work is respectable. It doesn't have to be the best, but a short story that's only a paragraph isn't any good (unless there's a good reason). Please make sure that your work can be read (as in grammar and spelling) before posting it. Also, if a work is unfinished, make sure there is enough to bother posting. If this is the case, make sure to state that it is incomplete.
Expect Criticism When posting work, make sure you can take criticism. If somebody doesn't like your story or poem, don't blow up in their face. Accept what they say and use their advice to your advantage. Be open to suggstions. On a similar note, don't get too overconfident if one or two people like the story. Taking criticism works both ways.
Constructive Criticism Constructive criticism only, please. If you don't like someone's work, don't flame them. If there's something wrong, try to give them suggestions on how else it might be done. Personally, I'd rather have someone give me some nice useful criticism than a "W00t u r good i r jeluss."
Just Post The Text Most of the time, there will be no need to 'attach' written work. You can copy and paste it into the text box for the thread. People will skip over your work more often if they have to click another link that if they can read it right there. It doesn't seem like much, but that's just the way things are.
Those are the basics. For the most part, just use your common sense. Be decent, and respect the work of others.
