Title: The Conspirators
Description: My band :)

motioncity182 - March 30, 2007 09:42 AM (GMT)
So I guess a few folk on here and the SA forums have heard me talking about The Conspirators. It's my band that I play in...just had a gig last night, and shooting for BBC interview/music vid yesterday.

(If anyone gets Look North as their local BBC news we'll be on it next week)

The Conspirators Official Site - the quality isn't so good right now, I'm in the middle of doing a redesign.

The Conspirators Myspace Page - probably the best for up to date news n stuff.

Anyways, so we've had some success with the band - gotten to number one of the KIAC American Independent Pop Chart, and been there for 3 weeks now. Been on regular radio play through the BBC and now being featured on the local news.

Tis all good! Oh, and apparently Inhumane's sister has been to see us play in Leeds :D

i get look north, when you gonna be on?

motioncity182 - March 30, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
At some point next week - I'll let you know as soon as I do :) You can see me acting like a retard stood on top of a statue!! and playing a snare drum in the middle of a field!

inhumane_assailant - March 30, 2007 10:22 PM (GMT)
They are good :P my sis went to see them.

brackers5 - March 31, 2007 06:48 PM (GMT)
cool, ill keep an eye out for ya

instigator - March 31, 2007 09:01 PM (GMT)
how are you guys recording the drums?

motioncity182 - April 1, 2007 11:22 AM (GMT)
It's my electric kit...plug from the module to the mixing desk. Kick to one output, snare to another, toms to another and cymbals to the 4th. all can be mixed individually then.

motioncity182 - April 3, 2007 10:58 AM (GMT)
Ok so we weren't told about it, but apparently we were on Look North last night...got a bunch of messages from Myspace folk and relatives!

Gonna call them today and see if we can get it put on again, or at least a DVD of it to put on the Myspace page.

Will keep yous all updated.

brackers5 - April 3, 2007 02:38 PM (GMT)
awww thats a bummer, i missed it :(

motioncity182 - April 3, 2007 03:01 PM (GMT)
Tis ok, will get a copy on dvd and post it. I didn't show up much apparently (thank god)

brackers5 - April 3, 2007 04:39 PM (GMT)
lol, look forward to it

motioncity182 - May 8, 2007 10:24 AM (GMT)
Update on the band front...

We're now working on our album with Peter Whitehead (the legendary guy who discovered Muse, Radiohead, Stereophonics etc.) and a few people from the BBC.

We should have full blown management in the next couple of weeks after extensive talks with a couple of companies.

We're also supporting Tom Ingley (formerly of Inspiral Carpets) on his Leeds section of his UK Tour on Saturday - tickets are available through our website.

Website is now well and truely up and running - tee shirts are available, as well as CDs etc. Plus...the LOOK NORTH footage is available online.

Oh, and I thought I'd post a pic of us all in action from the other night - taken by the wonderful Ed Fielding.user posted image

If you become rich and famous can you get us free stuff with all your HUGE endorsment deals!? :D

soho07 - May 8, 2007 03:43 PM (GMT)
haha well done for doing so well! you're going to become all big in the world and when we read your interview in rhythm and get into the music hall of fame we'll all be like 'yeah i knew that conpirators drummer!'

no pressure or anything! hehe.......i want a t-shirt!

soho07 - May 8, 2007 03:44 PM (GMT)
woops i meant when YOU get into the hall of fame not us! although that would also be nice!

Smitt - May 8, 2007 03:49 PM (GMT)
You could be the first female drummer into the hall of fame!

Just keep your fingers crossed! And make sure you have a lot of money to bribe them with!

soho07 - May 8, 2007 03:56 PM (GMT)
you saying i can't make it without bribery?!?!?!

hehe just kidding....not sure if i would be in a band. coming up with parts and the right ideas might be hard because i like to improvise a lot and not stick too much to one rhythm (because sometimes it can be a bit boring...)

but anywho, back to the conspirators, i visited your website again and your picture looks quite funny on your 'band' page (the one with what you conspire to be) you just look very happy!
and i want a t-shirt............rock to the sun medium in scarlet pleasy! with white writing!!!

sorry.......

motioncity182 - May 8, 2007 04:02 PM (GMT)
lol cool soho07 - put an order through and I'll get it sent out asap. i hope i can get into some sort of hall of fame. would be pretty sweet.

and yeah, i hate that photo of me...i hate all photos of me truth be told!

soho07 - May 8, 2007 04:04 PM (GMT)
wonder what size medium would be though, because sometimes they're larger/smaller than their size is so.....

maybe i could get it signed! (hint hint...)

Smitt - May 8, 2007 05:08 PM (GMT)
QUOTE (soho07 @ May 8 2007, 05:04 PM)
maybe i could get it signed! (hint hint...)

Maybe I could get it free! (hint hint...) :D

motioncity182 - May 8, 2007 06:47 PM (GMT)
Lol...no free stuff until I start making serious money...then will give you all sorts of free stuff when I can.

Size wise - if you wanted skinny fit, then a small would be better. For girls size - small is about a 10, medium would fit 12 - 14, large can fit anything up to a 20 and x large is 20+

pretty varied.

and we'll send you a signed photo with it...so you can still wear the shirt.

soho07 - May 8, 2007 07:23 PM (GMT)
woo yay!

so when you guys become all rich and famous, i can show it off to everyone and say 'i know this person!!!'

it's gonna be fun..............maybe i can sell it for auction!!(joking of course)

Smitt - May 8, 2007 07:39 PM (GMT)
It double in price once one of them dies!

Not trying to be morbid or anything. I'm just saying. :D

I could make a fair bob once Billy Cobham dies, and Nick McBrain, and Tony Royster Jr, and Will Calhoun, and Rodney Holmes, and Jason Bittner.

It could go towards my Gretsch USA Custom! :D

motioncity182 - May 9, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
it's true...the best way to make it in the music biz is to die. an instant hit!

And you can sell it on eBay if you want! I doubt you'd get anything for it at the moment, but hopefully one day you will!

I'm hoping to make some cash off all my signed Blink 182 stuff, incl. an original Flyswatter tape that Mark gave me, and a bunch of my signed Motion City Soundtrack stuff - except my signed stick...would never sell that.

Although I have about 7 or 8 signed Travis sticks from various gigs!

Smitt - May 9, 2007 04:53 PM (GMT)
You'll make a mint on those! The amount of people that like Travis Barker. Unfortunatley the drummers I like and have stuff signed by aren't that popular (although they deserve to be 100 times more popular than Travis)

soho07 - May 9, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
well i don't have ANY signed stuff so mwaha to you two with the famous buddies!

i've heard ridiculous ebay selling stories, like someone who bought jimi hendrix's air guitar (how would they get a photo of that?) and brad pitt's fart in a jar!

Smitt - May 9, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
I wish I had famous friends! The closest I am to somebody famous is my Mums friend dated Robert Plant (WHO HASN'T!) and lived next to pete townsend.

My friend sold and air guitar, he sold it for 99p, the guy buying it didn't notice the £10.00 shipping! He aslo make a fair bob out of selling his soul....

..... several times!

soho07 - May 10, 2007 04:47 PM (GMT)
oh god...

the closest i'd say to anyone famous was......almost seeing ronnie corbett in a chinese restaurant in croyden.....and......almost seeing neil fox in heathrow airport going on my school ski trip just over a month ago!

by almost seeing, i mean people seeing them and exclaming stuff about seeing them, but i didn't. still i was in their presence!

oh and buying a drumkit off scott from SA who has also met chad smith!!! and ronnie vannucci!!! and tons of other famous people so mwaha!

motioncity182 - May 10, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
I hang out with Tony Thaxton from Motion City Soundtrack whenever they come to the UK, and that also involved hanging out with Blink 182 during their last UK tour. It was fun playing Travis's kit :)

Smitt - May 10, 2007 06:02 PM (GMT)
Ah so thats where your forum name comes from! I never used to get it until now! :D

I also bought the latest issue of rhythm today, I never knew your name was Laura!

motioncity182 - May 10, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
yup, i am the laura from the clan of the goodacres :) and yes, not a very inventive name!

Smitt - May 10, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
It's more inventive than mine! :D

soho07 - May 11, 2007 04:01 PM (GMT)
all i know is your surname's smith......

i think you guys know my name, but you don't know my surname! BWAHA!

i like my name.....and my surname's short but special.......

Smitt - May 11, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
Short but special? Thats an odd surname! :D

My first name is George but I'm known as Smitt to everyone except my family!
