gabe's the youngest and possibly the quietest benson boy. he was always reserved and more to himself than his brothers. he liked to keep his thoughts to himself, observe the world around him, and come to conclusions about situations on his own. maybe it was because he was the youngest or simply because he learned from his brothers' mistakes, gabe was quite the studious student. he read chapters before they were meant to in class, did all of his homework, and studied thoroughly for his exams. not to say his brothers aren't smart or anything, gabe simply honed all of his effort and talent into school. his reserved personality bothered his parents somewhat since he hardly ever said much but his father let the idea go, putting some hope into his youngest son for future business plans. gabe stayed focused on his schoolwork even as he noted signs that his parents were ready for a divorce. they were subtle hints, subtle enough that you'd be uncertain whether you actually saw them or not but gabe was sure. so it came to no surprise when their parents announced their divorce. instead of acting out, gabe simply nestled back into his studies. if his parents' marriage could fail so easily, it was best to put all of his trust into academics, the one thing he felt never would fail him.
<p>
whenever something somewhat tragic occurred in the benson family, gabe continued turning to schoolwork and books for comfort. even after the divorce, he didn't say too much, letting his older brothers' actions be the center of attention and not him. it didn't take too long before their father remarried, adding onto their somewhat large family and making it larger. personally, gabe liked the idea of an extended family but like always, never voiced his opinion. he hasn't quite acted out possibly to his brothers' dismays. their father, however, has already beckoned and bribed gabe to take the business up when he finishes school. it's been months and gabe has yet to actually answer him. he has far more important issues on his mind.
<p>
throughout high school, gabe hardly ever dated, mostly because his reserved personality didn't quite appeal to the young woman he had classes with. now in college, his options for dating have expanded and in more ways than he'd like. he noticed it before but just pushed the feeling away but lately his gaze has been lingering on other guys. he'd note the way their pants snugly fit their legs or how tight someone's shirt was, and even how rough their lips would feel against his. he doesn't think he's gay, considering he used to have the hugest crush on a cheerleader back in high school but he can't deny the fact he's been looking at other guys. he hasn't told anyone in his family yet especially not his father.
<p>
in the meantime, gabe's been focusing on his first year of college. the urges he has for boys are becoming more prominent but he falls into the comfortable, safer option of women. he doesn't come home too often, keeping his distance from the now benson-costello homes. he hardly knows his new sisters but he likes to say it's because of school getting in the way rather than him just being anti-social. his future is unknown and he's simply going with the flow until further notice.
