Actually, I was quite happy about this myself, but as you all know, I am in Canada, and from what I have heard, Obama has had a lot of Canadian support.
Looks to me as if he had enough Americans supporting him, as well. I think this will be a good thing, but as with everything else, only time will tell.
Thanks for posting this, Elijah!

Pray for Obama and that His administration can get America and perhaps the world out of the mess we have gotten ourselves into over these last few years. All of it promoted through fear of the unknown or what could be. I am viewing optimistic promise from this. God's will be done.

Let us wait and see shall we, unfortunately I don't think his stance on the Israeli-Palestinian issue will be that much different.

I heard on the Canadian news yesterday that there was a bit of a scare in regards to Obama encouraging Americans to "buy American" and how that would affect their neighbours here in Canada. He assured that he would work WITH Canada, not against us, which I really think is a good thing. We are neighbours, after all. :)

I was refering to what I witnessed and heard at the inauguration. I apologize for not making that clear.

If Obama can live up to that inaugural address, He will be one of the great American presidents.

Encouraging Americans to buy American is an oxymoran. There is not much left that is made in America that can be bought. I find now that it is even happening with food, candy, OTC medicines, etc. Of course most of these imports are by American companies carrying their brand name. Perhaps Obama means buy American companies even though their product is made in off shore countries. I do not see how that helps anyone, but the big wigs of American Companies. Supporting foreign made goods, labeled with American names, by buying them certainly does not help the average working Joe/Jill of America. However their seems to not be much of a choice or alternative any more to finding American made goods that will keep Americans working and the income tax money going into Washington to support all the spending, rather than borrowing from other countries that make our goods. Pray hard!

Have we seen the true colours of Obama already? Remaining silent on the atrocities carried out by Israel upon the people of Gaza! So much for change in the Middle East, things at best will get back to the way they were under Bill Clinton, and this is just not good enough! Obama has failed the acid test, Gaza!

The acid test is American affairs not foreign affairs. It is time the American president and his congress consider the ones who pay their salaries. Take care of them and what they need from government starting with less interference in their lives.

Well he has Hillary out there.

Perhaps Obama is listening to his constituents and is going to withdraw America from sticking its nose into every other countries business at the expense of the American people. We may not see the same old same old foreign policy from him.

I seriously doubt that. It will be different from Bush, but it will still be there for a long while yet...

I heard on my Montreal local news station last night that the U.S. are doing some kind of ads, stressing the importance of the health care system, and using some bad examples from our Canadian health care system. I don't have a problem with them using our bad examples, and if it is going to help better the system in the U.S., (and who knows, maybe even our Canadian health care system, too)!
More power to them!

Yes, Democrat or Republican. Not much difference these days.

Well, the spending goes on and many taxpayers out of work that would support the spending. That means government borrowing and not enough tax income to pay back the loan in an efficient manner. So what is suggested? Find new ways to tax, even more, the people who are working. Then continue to ship overseas the jobs that will continue to put even more of those that are working out of work. However all Americans, working or not working, should buy these overseas products of American companies that no longer give them employment and a living wage. Sheesh!

Pray hard, remain faithful, Jesus is coming to take the faithful to a place where all is new and none of this will be and he will set the torch to that which is an abomination to His and the faithful's Father. That is God.
